I saw this on Alla earlier. I hope that if the lawsuit against IGE is won, that they won't just pull out of WoW and bring more of their forces here.sigpic

it dont matter if they win or not, they'll find a way around it.
doesnt every computer that uses the internet have a special number, i remember playing my ps2 online and had to use my pc for some number thing. " I know I'm not a techie"
surely SE / playonline can track our computers / characters / gil.
Personally I think trading gill should be taken out of the game, in foreign countries they cut peoples hands off for stealing,
just cut off their trade
allthough it would be cool if a RMT spelt the recipients name wrong and it ended up in my delivery box lol Like they'd get it back

Satori: Not really. MAC Addresses can be changed, IP addresses are inaccurate. The only way to stop RMT for good is to punish the people behind it.Comment

I have never understood how it could be legitimate in the first place. They are buying/selling gil, which is SE's intelectual property, which is against the ToS, so I am surprised that nothing much beyond banning the people in game has been done.I doubt this will be a complete solution to the RMT problem, but if we win RMT will be severely de-legitimatized.
Yes, they use the they pay for the person's time spent gathering the gil, but when your website says you buy gil for, say $7/million gil, you are setting a price for the GIL, not the time spent gathering it. If it was the time spent gathering it you would be paid on a per hour basis for how long it took you to gather the gil. So really they are buying and selling the gil, and I have yet to see a cohesive arguement showing that it could possibly be something else.
I'd love it if IGE lost this case and steps were taken against them. I am a little tired of the gil sellers by now.
Heh, it'd be hilarious if IGE and other gold selling companies had to pay compensation to all the players affected by the gil selling practices.
