Finished that book a friend gave me (Murakami's A Wild Sheep Chase; pretty good if you like trippy or dreamy stuff), so going to start FF9 probably the next time I play a game.

Ok, this is just playing dirty, I'm still hooked on Peace Walker and I had to look it up.

Without spoiling too much of anything, in post-game there's an extra operation that goes like this:

Yo dawg, I heard you liked Extra Ops, so I put an Extra Op in your Extra Ops so you can Op while you Op.

Very damn sneaky. And it pushes you right into what I assumed it would - more story that this time links more directly to the themes of the other games and onward to the true ending.

Almost near the end of Lufia, really hate how there's absolutely NO help text on items, and the spell names are so retarded... no indication as to what they do (at least they have help text though)

Still have to finish Crystal Bearers, Scarface & a number of other titles I started.. Hoping Lufia 2 is a lot better. All I know of it is that it has an epic boss battle theme.

I was talked into playing Borderlands before I finished the last three trophies in Resistance 2 that I plan to get. Now it will be months before I get the those.

Ahh FF9 is . Playing it now on my PSP and reloving every minute of it. Love finding new references to old FF/Square games. At the point right after Amarant/Salamander joins up. Gave Dagger her real name just for the hell of it, which makes some of the scenes in Madain Sari a little more touching.

Currently playing:

Gitarooman Lives (PSP): Purchased on recommendation from a friend. Awesome rhythm gaming from back when rhythm gaming didn't mean a hundred pounds of plastic in your living room.

Final Fantasy 9 (PSP): As above posts. I never did get to finish this game back in the PSX days, so I'm really enjoying this.

Catan (PS3): My love for Settlers of Catan the board game knows no bounds, and the console version delivers.

Green Day: Rock Band (PS3): Already have the game exported to Rock Band 2, but I'm still picking away at some of the easier trophies

Recently played:

Rock Band 3: I got a sneak peek at the current build of Rock Band 3 at the Total Rock Total Rewards Rock Band competition in Atlantic City last week. All I can say is playing keyboards and triple harmony vocals on "The Power of Love" by Huey Lewis and the News in front of a crowd of drunken people at a bar is more fun than you could possibly imagine.

Still working on MGS: PW's post-game, lots of intense stuff left to do. But its stuff I can l don't feel rushed to do so I'm focusing more on Persona 3 Portable. They've done a rather fine job of enhancing the experience whole preserving what made it good to start with.

Things flow a lot faster too. Now that world navigation is totally by menu, there's no running around aimlessly except for dungeons in Tartarus. Even Tartarus is feeling like less of a grind and I did set it to Hard starting out. They added a lot of P4 features to make it more tolerable, hell, some of its even an improvement on Persona 4.

You can heal yourself at the clock at the base of Tartarus and its not nearly as steep as what that fox in P4 was charging me. I had money to spare this time. Fatigue is still a part of the game, but more forgiving, plus it was kinda funny to sleep through classes anyway.

Only part I don't like is the MC is stuck with a Slash-damage weapon no matter which character you choose to start out as. I liked being able to choose. I wanted my girl to have a giant axe cuz it looks funny, but noooo, only spears for her and swords for the male character. This means Ken is now more useless than ever, I'm still going to choose the dog over him. The dog can summon Cerberus, he just wins.

Dragon Quest VIII - I haven't played since Dragon Warrior III, so I thought I'd see what's kept people interested in DQ for all these years (60GB PS3 don't you ever die on me!)

Mass Effect 2 - Late to the series, but I enjoyed ME1, and finally Steam had a sale on ME2 a month or two ago, so I've finally started the second entry

I used to play DS games on my commutes, but now that I have a Kindle, I'm doing a lot more reading. It's nice getting back into books.
