yhutunga / yhoator jungle ( sp ^_^ ?) look like crap. The textures... all the green on the walls / ground is all really badly done.

almost all the zones in ffxi look gorgeous, but the ground in most zones does look boreing >.>

Rofl, is staring at the ground not boring in real life? Grass is grass, dirt is dirt, sand is sand.

The walls in Yuhtunga and Yhoator aren't completely green. The green is most likely a moss.

The first time I saw the jungles I was horrified. The ugliest and worst designed zones in the game imo.

Edit: WoW has a seamless world but it's still designed like a zoned game. (Not that this is relevant in any way...)

Pixles are Pixles dont forget that if u look close enough to the screen u can see tiny squares also it might hurt ur eyes so be careful lol.

i didnt realy mind seeing the same monster over and over but after farming Crawlers its gotten a bit.............. boring but i deal with it

Impaction... just wondering... how much of WoW have you seen? How much of FFXI have you seen?

Have you hit 75 yet? did you hit level 60 in WoW? did any raiding? What about in FFXI?

Like I've already said, I hit 60 in WoW with a warrior, and had a few other characters that were both on Horde Alliance. The warrior was a human and I raided up to BWL once before I quit. I played every class up to at least 20. I'm currently level 71 in FFXI and as of about five seconds ago have Impulse Drive. I have access to sky and am very close to sea.

I know what I'm talking about, it doesn't take a genius to see the faults in WoW, and it doesn't take a genius to point them out either.

Oh not saying you need to be a genius or anything. But I'd just like to understand... do you believe there are also flaws in the game you're currently embracing?

So... which flaws can you overlook and which ones are particularly irksome for you?

I mean... obviously it would seem you can overlook things like repetitive textures or cutting some corners in some areas... afterall, things like less than stellar transition zones and lack of extraneous animations* in certain areas can't be the things you truly have an issue with, as they're also present in FFXI
*BTW, if you look around IF, you'll find some intresting animations in the vein of what you're suggesting; namely the airplane launching rig in the war room

So what are the things that really stop you from playing?

Yea, I believe FFXI has its flaws. Even though most of the game is done very well it would seem that FFXI was meant to appeal to a larger crowd but fell short. Their plans to release FFXI for every possible platform to appeal to the largest crowd possible won't help them at all when all it comes down to is game play pure and simple. The flaw is the content was planned with more people in mind, and that's why it's usually hard to find or put together a party and thus becomes extremely frustrating, moreso than WoW at times. Not to mention the terrible economies, but I think they're basing their decisions too much on fact. Players have created lists on known gil farmers that span entire pages when printed, and the lists are usually very accurate. If SE would take a leap and ban those farmers they might find that the economy will recover a bit.

The things that really stopped me from playing WoW were the incompetant players, incompetant developers, and the game play. Both SC, WC, and WoW all share the same style of play, and that's zerg rushing. Zerg rushing is replacing strategy with brute force and still attaining the expected outcome. That means that no matter how stupid or smart your teammates were it was the side with the bigger number that would win, or in this case the side with the Shamans, and that didn't cut it. I'm a competitive person, I can't thrive in an enviroment where my teammates are unskilled and far too passive. When I played my warrior the alliance were incompetant and simply retarded. When I played my horde character winning in the BGs was far too easy, and I ended up feeling bad for the people who lost. I'm still not sure what's up with that.

What's going to make me quit FFXI is the economy. Seraph is now a gil buyer's server, which means there's no possible way you can farm up enough money for the best items. Prices rise faster than you can farm, it's like the AH fees are broken.

I was an importer back in the day, but I've remade my character several times since then.

The players utilize no strategy or teamwork whatsoever. Any group effort in that game usually falls apart well before they can reach the end of their quest or goal because a priest or some other vital member anals out and leaves over the smallest problem. It's worse than Black Mages in FFXI, much worse. This game is easy, so easy that you don't even have to have much of a plan to succeed, yet when it comes time to clear out another room in an instance you can count on somebody to fudge it up big time. What part of "don't pull the entire room" didn't they understand? All of it. During PvP everybody becomes the solo-all hero and runs off on their own just to get stomped by other people who just happen to be near each other at the time. It's all coincidence.

he wants me to join WoW, so i said id check it out at his house... when i got there, he was putting a party together for an instance that he wanted to do... about a half hour into the instance someone from his party aggro some hardcore mobs and wiped out the entire party... he freaked out at his computer and started bitching at his party members about them leaving for a min for a smoke break, or to go get a soda... it was ridiclous! ive have never ran into anyone like that in ffxi... NEVER...

so looks like ill never be leaving ffxi
