My updated list of reasons why World of Warcraft is a terrible game.

I don't see how FFXI is broken, the community is just greedy and no different than WoW's community when it comes to buying currency. WoW is broken in several places, and the community just doesn't set any standards for themselves.
Re: My updated list of reasons why World of Warcraft is a terrible game.
So what if WoW has problems? You aren't playing it right? You obviously prefer FFXI over WoW. So play FFXI. Gee wiz.
Is there some pent up agression and this is how you release it? Do you need a hug? =D
I honestly don't see the point in telling people in a FFXI forum about faults with WoW. Wouldn't it make more sense to post in a WoW forum, say on their official forums, and perhaps maybe one of the Blizzard workers will actually take into consideration one, or maybe even all of your many complaints?
Unless you fear that people are leaving FFXI to play WoW. So you are single handedly taking on the task of making WoW look bad, so the would-be WoW players stay playing FFXI. Or maybe there is a secret ulterior motive?
Does it really matter which game I prefer to play? I like vanilla ice cream instead of chocolate, should I be reprimanded for this also? =P Variety is the spice of life, no? It's my money so I'll choose to play either WoW or FFXI, maybe I'll choose to play even both, or maybe neither, maybe I'll go back to playing NexusTK instead. Haha.
Anyways, I think this thread is kind of silly. It was an interesting read though. Let the people play what they want and stop trying to make a decision for them.
Re: My updated list of reasons why World of Warcraft is a terrible game.
Here we see a common problem that plagues the WoW forums, the inability to stay on topic. Why? No one can say for sure, but top scientists believe it has something to do with the poster's lack of knowledge on the subject. It's rumored that if people didn't BS their way through posts in a topic they know little about, threads wouldn't be inundated with spam and nonsense.
Variety is the spice of life, and Balgas is reprimanding me for spicing it up a bit? Hipocrite.
Re: My updated list of reasons why World of Warcraft is a terrible game.
This thread wouldnt last very long on the WoW official forums at all. From what i know its very strict over there. The mods delete and anti WoW threads pretty fast i was told, and anti mmo threads in general. There was this one post from some guy talking about how bad mmorpgs are and how their "Stealing all your money" "you dont own your character and they can take it away whenever they want" blahblahblahbla and so on. I think its dumb that like 10 people in my school quit cause of that thread, its not like its anything they didnt know. Someone i know copied and pasted that whole thread and showed it to me.. all i had to say was "so?"

There's a difference between having variety and just being obnoxious you know. =P
I don't see how I'm being a hypocrite. I just don't see the point in trying to force feed people your opinion. If they want to try it, they'll try it. If they like it, then they like it. If they don't, they don't. It's a matter of personal taste and opinion. Your opinion is that WoW is a bad game. Some probably agree with you and others probably disagree with you. But just because you say it is a bad game doesn't necessarily mean that it is one.
Re: My updated list of reasons why World of Warcraft is a terrible game.
Some of the points that Impaction mentioned are true, such as the horrible lag, annoying tuesday maintinance, and the dim witted players, and some class unbalances... but other than that it's really not that bad of a game. It is easier than other games but that's not all bad. It's better for people who don't have as much time to play, (casual gamers).
I loved how easy it was to level up and try new things quickly. There was no grinding or staying at the same level for ages. There was always something new. It was easy to craft very useful things for myself and my friends at early levels.
The graphics are just a matter of opinion. I thought the graphics were cool and unique. I also thought the game had a nice sense of humor that other games dont have.
No game is perfect. I loved playing both WoW and FFXI. Both had their advantages and disadvantages.
Now this post has gone on too long... ^^

Yea, it was easy to level up and try multiple jobs, but that required creating an entirely new character, getting back into the same old guild, do all the same quests all over, etc. Knowing that their sweeping nerfs were always around the next corner it made it hard to really stick with a single job.
There wasn't much humor unless you're the type who enjoys low brow cartoons like Spongebob. Humor in WoW only adds to the cartoony atmosphere as well. A lot of people found some of the names of the NPCs humorous or interesting, but they simply ripped off names of popular book characters or other character names. A quest about Linken where you recieve a boomerang as a reward for completing it? Very unimaginative. A bunch of people, who are named after the core characters from Fight Club, fighting randomly summoned monsters? It detracts a lot from immersion.
