yeah, in Tactics Advance the Viera had long bunny ears. Since the character designs in XII aren't as charicatured as in TA, they seem to have been toned down a bit.

Since Final Fantasy XII will be released in Japan in Summer 2004. Does that mean we probally wont see it until the Fall or Winter in the NA release of 2004?

well, Vag...nearly every regular Final Fantasy title has been released in the early summer in japan and in early fall in america (usually august or september). perhaps this'll be the same and we'll be blessed with a q3 2004 release

Im just going to throw down my oppinion of this game by what we already know or what square has told people at the tokyo show ETC.

This game look linear. It sounds like a port of FFIX i mean seriously dont you think the Poor guy meeting the princess thing is kinda old and worn out? Square needs to get it together and come up with some better storylines.

To add on top of that, IVALICE they are saying the world is gunna be called Ivalice that name is worn out also i hate that name now. i Loved final fantasy tactics and advance was OK but WTF what ever happend to gaia?

Its these small things that square used to be good at perfecting but now its repetitive. Im starting to wonder how long this Family of games will survive. Hopefully they change some of this garbage...next thing we'll find out is Yuna will be in the game too!!! ......Im losing hope i need a time out

I too would be saying the same things as you as i hated what they did in FFTA buuuut i have high hopes for this game. It looks like Vagrant story + FFT + FFX(only in a sense of gfx and somewhat battle wise). With the team of VS and FFT on board and in control i know the game will be at least solid. And the cutscenes look like they live up to those of VS.. . i duno whut else to say - i'm pretty tired so i wont' say anything else except i am lookin forward to this one.

this isn't a "poor boy meets princess" ordeal. there is close to zero romantic elements in the game, the story isn't based on love.

The game will definitely be less linear than the last few, because we finally have the return of the fully-navigational world map.

And they aren't just re-using the name Ivalice, it's the same world. The story of Final Fantasy XII was developed around the same time that Final Fantasy VI was being created; however, it was not used, and Final Fantasy Tactics was made instead, using the same world and similar features. Final Fantasy XII takes place in the world of Ivalice, just like Tactics and Tactics Advance, but covers a completely different story.

Ive played X-2 i dont want anymore sequel CRAP i want a new story NEW i dont want repetitive bullcrap. Will Final Fnatasy 8 be the last godly final fantasy ever made? Im disapointed.

THe love story is never usually a big part of Final fantasy anyways its usually just the motivation for helping someone save the world or the reason to do the things they do in the story i mean.....Why is this poor guy hangin out with the princess of the baron? meh i dunno because shes cool....NOT UBER!!!

Whenever i come in this thread i need to give myself a time out i had ffx-2 all ready in the titlle screen and ready to load when i read this...now i need a time out im disgusted with square

well, we're all entitled to our opinion. i just don't think it's very fair to judge a game before even "touching it or seeing a preview."

there haven't been many updates lately, except that President Wada's only comment on FFXII in a recent interview was that he was very stressed about the delay, and he's afraid it will conflict with sales of other games scheduled for release at the same time.
