Lindsay Lohan: I'm Voting for Mitt Romney - UsMagazine.com

You know, because everyone wants to know. I blame tumblr for finding this.

I find it rather impressive that for a 26 year old she already looks like she's in her late 40s and full of botox.

    Did we ever?

People who seek power are rarely those who ought to be entrusted with power.

The sad thing is that people have, because they did.

Or better yet, "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness."

Perhaps so, but Nice Peter makes a good point, our leaders lack commitment and follow-through. The thing about legends is we elevate their ideal beyond what was humanly possible because we want people to have something to aspire to.

I'm sure we could find some dirt on Martain Luther King Jr. if we really wanted to, but the thing about martyrdom is once you've died as a result of the path you were committed to, you have become the ideal and an unseatable legend. Does anyone really want to live with that expectation placed on them?

Does anyone look at the Kennedy years?

If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union

    Amused.

I do have to say Nice Peter did make a strong point in that video. Our presidents from since I would say Lincoln and up have changed severely with their ideals. From freeing slaves to now digging out of the hole we call "National Debt" and "Economy." It feels like the elections are just picking a liar and just siding with the guy who's lies fits you the most.

Everyone over here knows of SERCO. Nobody likes them either.

BBC News - Starbucks 'paid just £8.6m UK tax in 14 years'

Apparently they have paid just over $13.8m in tax in the UK over 14 years while small businesses can barely stay open due to the UK government going after those instead of the corporations that actually raise enough revenue to make them worth taxing.

Hey so you finally get what I've been saying about the UK employment figures for ages? Awesome!

As for the current situation in the UK I will leave these links:

BBC News - One in five workers on poverty wages: Trust for London
BBC News - UK food banks used by record number, says Trussell Trust
Starbucks shortchanges British taxypayers by paying just £8.6m in tax over past 14 years | Mail Online (Sorry about quoting the Daily Fail but it has actual figures)

Well no shit Sherlock. The Unemployment Rate is not The Number Of People Who Don't Have Jobs. It never has been. That's not something you hold against a specific candidate, that's something you hold against the whole fucked up system that concocted that scheme.

I sincerely doubt the moderator is in charge of fact checking everything before the debate, so it's a lot easier to call someone out on outright refusing to answer a question(which is supposed to be the whole point of the debate) than it is to call someone out on having incorrect numbers.

Moderator: Give us some specifics about your five point plan.
Ryan: Nope, I'm going to be vague.
Moderator: Seriously, specifics. Give us some.
Ryan: lalalala, I can't hear you

    Moderator: Unemployment!
    Biden: SPECIFIC NUMBERS!
