Fukken anxiety. It's been relentless lately.

I realized my first mistake was trying to wean off of Xanax too quickly, so I upped the dose a bit and plan to stay there for a few weeks before doing a slow taper. BUT. Even after upping my dose, I'm still feeling anxious. Anxious enough for me to take more Xanax, which is not good. It's the opposite of what I'm attempting to do.

I think the real problem here is that I quit Lexapro at the end of December. It's always been something I was taking while weaning off of Xanax in the past. The reason I quit is because I wasn't sure what it was doing for me, and I wanted to know how I'd feel if I weren't taking it. Well, now I think I've figured it out. It was a base layer of calm. It was a safety net for anxiety. If it didn't calm me enough, there was always Xanax, but when I no longer needed it I had Lexapro there to cushion the fall.

I think I need it again.

"A hard working, self-motivated architectural professional with extensive 'hands on' experience in all aspects of a
construction project from initial concept to running the project on site. Skilled in technical detailing in a variety of
construction methods and sectors with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Experienced
in complex projects, challenging scenarios and tight deadlines and has full knowledge of current building
regulations and planning procedures, with a strong background in contract administration."

I know US and Uk have differences but your cv is basically your shop window for them to glance through and you want all the best relevant information there in front of them on the first page.
Do you talk like you type? I feel like that would be a huge surprise for your potential employers.

Most jobs I would apply for invariably demand proficiency with Microsoft office utilities. I've decided it's just not worth the risk when employment is at stake. When I used Open Office, I've mailed my own resume to myself just to see how it looks when others open it and icons and bullets suddenly became question marks.

Or I sent my contribution to school projects to the group and they'd ask me why I formatted something a certain way. I had to explain that I didn't.

Or you could get Libre office suite which is just as good and free (open source).

Bit the bullet and just bought Microsoft Word instead of using Open Office. I've been going back on forth with some classmates in an internet course I was taking and got tired of all of my formatting somehow not transitioning well to their computers. I also suspect, whenever I sent my resume to possible employers, it looks like ass when they try to open it.

Even if that guy had gotten laid, he would have shot a bunch of people. Crazy is crazy.

One is a problem that deserves righteous fervor.

    The other is video games.

Yes, but I'm saying the tone people use with the two issues is eerily similar in a way that troubles me deeply.

I think everyone on this board can agree that there's a HUGE difference between misogyny and video games (even if the industry of one is plagued by the other--another bullet point in the laundry list of problems that systematic misogyny has brought upon society at large).

At least it wasn't video games (again).
That's kind of the parallel I'm drawing from all of this and why the self righteous zealous fury irks me. All my friends would be rolling their eyes going "not this shit again" if it was another round of "oh noes, video games", but instead they're wielding the same kind of hatred and fury that they so often scorn.

Anyone who does what this kid did is out of their goddamn mind.
Anyone who's on board with misogyny/misandry in general is out of their goddamn mind.
Someone who's out of their goddamn mind lost their tenuous grip on reality, they snapped and they killed a whole bunch of innocent people. That's a reason to mourn and reflect, not to further stoke the fires of antagonism.

It's a mix of both. Dude clearly had it out for women, but he was definitely fucked up something fierce in the head.

    I'm sick of the hatemongering.
I'm sick of the conspiracy theories.
I'm sick of the divisive rhetoric.
I'm sick of watching people I respect become the very monsters they fight.
The problem is, in this case, this kid actually did kill women because he was a misogynist, he had this crazy manifesto and fell in with several groups of people who honestly believe that women should be in concentration camps. So it's kind of hard not to focus on that.

I spent this weekend at Disney World. As always, I had a great time, and it's wonderful to get away for a few days and ignore the world, which, with the kind of things people are saying on the internet nowadays (especially the really misogynistic types), has been a really damn good thing. Some of the crap I was reading about this incident made me really angry.
