Adult Swim

I heard that they (I have no idea who 'they' are) were making a new anime specifically for Adult Swim... Is this true? If so, what is it?

if they did, it would probably suck, because Cartoon Network ruins every anime they get... Besides Cartoon Network is American, meaning if they made an anime for it, it would be made by Americans ( which totally ruins the point of being an anime).

Thats not exactley true. Cartoon network may not be the greatest, but it gets tons of great anime.

For example .hack//sign, cowboy bebop, yuyu hackusho, dragon ball z, a variety of gundom shows, raidenki (spelt wrong), etc.

Plus they are in english, with pretty good subbing.

But i don't think they should make an anime.

yeah they do get some good animes, but all the good stuff goes away way too fast... they get rid of good stuff to make room for crap like Alexander the Great. Meanwhile, you get countless reruns of DBZ ( edited mind you). I have to stay up till midnight just to watch a decent show like Lupin III... which will probably be gone in a month or so.

Ya if cartoon network made it, it would not be anime because its called Japanese Animation for a reason. IT would be American Cartoons.

Unless of course it was made in Japan for Cartoon Network, which wouldn't be unreasonable. BUT I DON"T CARE!!!! I'm angry at Cartoon Network. They took off my favorite show ever, Home Movies, and replaced it with Family Guy (which isn't too bad, but it's not as good IMHO).

Home Movies is crap to me, such a stupid anoying show. Family Guy is infinitely better.

Anyway, if they were making an anime specifically for Adult Swim, I wouldn't know what to think about it. As long as they don't get anyone from the Toonami department to help out, they should be fine. I can't stand anything on Toonami except Kenshin and Yu Yu Hakusho which used to be on Adult Swim.

I also say it could still be an anime if it was made in America. It's the style of the drawing that makes anime anime to me. Not the location of the creators.

Yep, Genrou that is very true. Anime has a very unique style, one that I don't think any American Animators right now could do. Now if they have Japanese Animators that have settled down in the US and they are going to be making it, then that's the only way I think it would ever compair to any other anime. Of course though there are some people around my age that should be starting to get into entertainment industries that may actually have the talent to do an anime style cartoon. Still without the Japanese culture to at least influence it a little, it might come out pretty bad.

Well.. As long as they dont get rid of Trigun before the series ends i'll be alright with adult swim.... but they better put somethin good cause Reign fucking sucked..... I have seen gay stuff cartoons but god DAMN........

Well elias I get Tri-gun at 12:00. Don't know if it's the same time, Arizona time is a quirky one doesn't change not even for daylight savings.

I agree Reign is terrible, if I really wanted to see guys running around in speedo's I could just go to a water park or a beach (Mind you though I have no reason to want to go watch a guy, so why would I want to see it on an Anime).
