Though I didn't get banned for botting. I did bot, but that's not the reason I was banned. I wouldn't be so ornery about it if that were the reason. Lol.

And the Abyssea threads are amazing. First there was "Raise the minimum level from 30 to 70" (which I would support if it hadn't already been that way for like a year, they can't take that shit away now lol), then the stupidity in that thread bred "Lower the minimum level from 30 to 1." A few minutes later, "Remove experience points."

So it's getting ridiculous. Lol.

heres a challenge you kill something with gear swaps then i kill it without just say when same challenge to nattack you guys try to change this game into rocket surgery when its very simple hit them dont let them hit you

Ya'll on the forums know me and the sort of FFXI rants I engage and you should immediately see this...

As a six year player, I would love to see changes that would return balance to the game and to parties. I would have to say that one aspect of the game that has really suffered through the updates of the past is the whole concept of party play and interdependence. The roles of each job have blurred into all the others and the required interdependence and cooperation between jobs has been minimized. Pld want to be DDs, DDs talk about how well they tank, Healers want to want to DD. In my opinion, each type of job should be unique and require the assistance of the others.
If a Pld wants to do damage, he or she should lvl a DD job, If a Mnk wants to tank, they should lvl a tank job.
I believe SE should make changes to help each class to be unique, powerful in their own purposes but completely dependent on the other jobs required to make a complete party.

...and know that I /rage over comments like this. Especially that bit about "Pld want to be DDs" or "Healers want to be DD".

But I would love for a competent melee WHM to show the blockheads of this new anti-gear swap movement how it's done. I know that niche uses for a job have very limited application, but I know the time and place for it is there and people are not doing themselves a disservice by exploring uncommon areas of their jobs.

Fuck! With posts like that, you'd think every RDM was running around Chant du Cygne-ing things to death and making all those SAM redundant! And that one about PLDs wanting to be damage dealers? That's a good one.

oh a side note... I would like to understand this leeching more, I was against it at first and was one of the ones wanting the capp raised... but I am starting to wonder as I read more.....

Gear swapping is a horrible game mechanic and it never should've been in the game.

That said, I'm not stupid enough to expect SE to get rid of it. That would require that they rework ALL of the equipment in the game so that they can be combined into permanent sets that are comparable to what you can achieve already through gear swapping. That's not gonna happen.
