For sure Aks. Beckles came in there with an aggressive attitude and people genuinely tried to help her. Then she turned out to just be a psychotic bitch who wanted to be told she was awesome for playing horribly and refusing to learn from the good advice that was being offered.

I'm honestly surprised it remained civil as long as it did and that she didn't get chewed out worse.

It was never about the Math for me except for I thought it was funny there was so much discussion going on about it. I mean, maybe it's just the people I've observed on my server, but I've watched other thfs solo mobs in the same area as me, as thf/dnc or with several gear changing macros because they haste and then WS and some of them have a lower survivability rate as me. I've watched them die soloing while I'm barely having any trouble. Those people make me laugh. Maybe what they do is good for a party setup when they're not having to tank mobs solo. But I see somebody like that, who doesn't realize you may not be able to do the same thing solo that you can in a party and I can't say they're a better player than me just because they swap gear for WS's and go with a haste/tp build when they're not WSing. It's never been about the Math for me. Likewise, it was easy for me to get irritated at people calling me a bad player just because I don't play that way. I don't see it as a basic thing to do. I see it as a player game choice. I don't really care if you outperform me as a player. That doesn't make me any less smart. Maybe I'm just lazy. Doesn't make me a bad player though.

Of course I see people in the game that I would personally label as a bad player, but it's still just my opinion. Most of those people get on the game once every couple of months and play for just a few hours. So at that point, it's not really a matter of they suck... they just don't play enough to learn how to be better at what they do.

Only for parties though. Probably just means she'll manually swap out a piece of her full-time pants-on-head-retarded gear for something more sensible. I doubt she'll actually gear-swap, more like temporarily having a less shitty fulltimed TP set.

I mean shit, I was stupid when I was new. I subbed RDM/WAR and I loved that because (oh yes) I got extra HP from subbing WAR. Yes you bet your ass I backup voked in parties. But I started reading forums and I realized I was a retard and I changed, and you know what's more? I admitted I was wrong and that I was a total fucking idiot.

It seems Cidbahamut has dove head first into the Official Forums. Let us hope he returns unscathed.

Well you never know about that. Composure was not a game breaking addition to the job. I know many people who wanted a more magic oriented updated quipped about it, but I still use the job ability a lot. It was a fine update without breaking the job. The job recently got Saboteur which very much supports its role as an enfeebler mage, and nobody would say that it was broken. I'm sure these 2 abilities have been brought up countless times in RDM Update discussions. Sure, you have to dig through all the "Give us A+ Sword", "Give us Haste II", or "Give us Meteor V" ideas to find them, but they're there and they do contribute to the image of the job without breaking it.

Anyway, that list I made was just a small sample of ideas that I really think the Official forums should be about, since they are mostly opinion based and have the potential to change peoples' minds about things about the game. SE added a section about advice for new players, which is certainly a fine place to go and ask questions about the math...that is...if they ever do anything to make the game interesting to new players again.

Posters like Naturebeckles need to step away from discussing game mechanics because she doesn't even know the difference between a fact and an opinion yet.

Oh I know I just see RDMs being one of the jobs that needs the least (and you're right, they've gotten a couple good updates that haven't really OPed them) but has the most amount of bitching.
