I know, that's why I put it up there. :D I actually have lots of other new videos but too damn lazy to do anything with them. I ate 100gb of HDD space just with crafting alone and need to go and purge the ones that I don't think add any value to my collection ...

Are you mainly doing a normal synth most of the time, or are you doing careful synths? I'm out of the loop really on the bets way to XP since the change in exp and crafting. I used to just do leves and do normal synth to get through the synth fastest with the best completion percentage. But now that you get more xp with a higher quality, I'm not sure the best way to do it.

For me I open with Sublimation (+50% quality for 3 steps) then careful x3, then Maker's Muse for standard x3, then if it's white I'll pop 1 more careful otherwise hit Manipulation first to restore 20 durability (and hope for a white light) then meticulous mind and basically spam careful until either finished or I don't feel like risking the synth and then hit standard for the win.

Until you have a bunch of abilities to rely on though it's best to use standard at least 3 or 4 times to ensure a relatively easy success and THEN boost quality for extra EXP.

I'm level 20-21 in everything but level 27 crp. should i have those abilities do you recall?

Today me and my linkshell finally beat Aurum Vale. As an added bonus we then went on to beat it two more times and I got myself a shiney Chiran Zabran's Tempest.

That's why I always prioritize BSM over all other crafts and then get the others up to speed afterwards because the majority of primary and secondary tools are made via BSM.

So far what I've found to work quite well for me has been to focus on 1 craft at a time getting it to a specific level (I'm currently attempting to get all my crafts to 30 before moving further) for abilities and also to save on inventory space - I have too much gear as it is and having multiple craft sets for diff levels just makes it that much worse.

It also helps dramatically to try and focus on recipes that have synergy with other crafts. For some this is easier than others such as CRP which you can level largely on lumber which is then in turn useful for a multitude of other things.

Also, pay close attention to leve rewards when selecting them. Before 1.22 I was absolutely starving for steel, now I have more than I know what to do with (though I've decided to save as much as I can for making the level 39 steel set as certain parts of it are worth a craptonne)

If you don't want to burn yourself out, just make sure you only craft when you have rested EXP and/or manuals and then once that's used up go on to something else.

I've been fiddling around with abilities a lot lately and so far the best combination I've found for 25+ has been Sublimation (or the ARM equivalent), Maker's Muse, Manipulation (will eventually replace with Master's Mend), Meticulous Mind and a Brand for whatever element you are primarily using. Once I get ARM to 30 I'm going to see if Great Strides will effectively replace Maker's Muse or not. The guaranteed success is awesome, but the increased progress is potentially far better depending on your success rates.

Are you leveling crafts with leves? If no adn you are grinding, can you list what you are grinding on what crafts? I have all crafts 20-28 and wouldnt mind grinding some now with the resting bonus, but I dont know what to grind on for best results.

For CRP, best to grind off logs (Get them from BOT) and then save the lumber for other crafts to make use of it.
For CUL, you can make sand with the fishes (which you can level alongside FSH)
For ALC, you can make crystals from fishes (ditto from above)
For ARM, you can make ingots, plates and rivets and then use them in other crafts (i.e., armor)
For BSM, you can also make ingots here, but I prefer to save leves for this craft (because of potential for rewards of basic materials which saves money when grinding)
For LTW, you need to combat grind for skins or otherwise be prepared to spend loads of gils (and then be forced to vendor) This is a craft that's PITA to level right now (Back in 1.09, for example, it was far easier to grind under the old system, due to how many recipes that would continually grow mats to level for other recipes)
For WVR, it's basically cloth and then making stuff that people actually use (i.e., crafting gear)
For GSM, I go for stuff you can vendor and make decent gil for (but having MIN is a must to keep costs down)

Every step of the way, try to craft your gear + tools with the appropriate crafts to get EXP at the peak (i.e., try to craft them sooner than later) Make your own stuff, because not only does it save money, but you also get a good amount of exp in the process.
