I started over earlier after I got logged out. It worked for sure after that! hehe. DRK is great. I can't wait to get some good armor and weapons.

And you must do these kills solo!!

When I did this quest, I was just finishing a quest that had myself and two others in a party. I mentioned I was heading to Bastok to unlock DRK and they decided to tag along.

We get the quest, head to the mines and get the sword, then start to kill. We were all in the same area, all killing different things, never helping one another. Just partied together to chat and give heads up when we completely killed everything in sight.

After it was all said an done, I had killed 120 mobs to make sure I didn't miscount or something, I zone from Pashow and got nothing! Same thing with my other two friends. I was WAR11 with Great Sword Skill Lv.21. I was so mad!!

So I had to kill 100 more for the quest, then 100 more for the Deathbringer. For me the key was using a super weak boomerang. I found some pretty weak mobs, but the key was to keep your weapon up. With that demonic delay on the sword, as soon as you kill and put the sword on your back, you have to wait 8 hours (or as it seemed at times) to draw it again and start killing more.

So I would gather about 5 or so bees and mandys with the Boomerang, which almost always missed, but never killed the mob. I attack one while the others are pecking away at me. I'd finish each one off, and move onto the next. It went much faster!

Once I had the Deathbringer, DRK from Lv.5-10 was super fast and easy. Chain #4's solo. The fact that I had Great Sword cap'd to about DRK Lv.9 helped out as well. Accuracy was pretty decent against Even Matches, and with with a decent Hard Slash I could kill toughs solo as well. Was great. I had an easier time getting to Lv.10 then my leveling buddy had with getting PLD to Lv.10.

Only problem with that, is when I later went to level other jobs, it seemed so slow. I could kill so fast with DRK, SAM, NIN, and even RNG seemed so slow. DRG to Lv.10 was almost as easy as DRK, but that was fun due to the company of Delphyne, my wyvern.
