That sucks. Do other new JSE's have such expensive ingredient?
    This chocobo has finished.

What is the approximate cost of a Shining cloth? I still think it's a joke tho...Hyppogryphs are a Harry Potter thing. As are Grindylow's, a new fishable mob, but those are old European legend anyway, not HP exclusive.

And yes, there are lots and lots of Hippogryphs in Cape Riverne. They see through Sneak and Invis, too.

LOL ok then, but if i see any blast-ended scroots i'm gonna have a fit. I can't have Potter stuff mixing in with my FFXI.

Does anyone have a pic of a hippogryph? I mean, one in the game.

The shining cloth requirement is pretty retarted unless they added more mobs that drop it. As if a noble's tunic wasn't hard enough to get (15-20mil if it's even for sale, only 2 ever sold on Bismarck, and never a cloth), now bards and whm have to fight over it. /sigh

                  Good job SE...

Something is up with Shining Cloth though. A person on our server recently sold 5 clothes for 5million, normal price is 10mil. Interestingly enough, this is the same person that has sold many before. Maybe an increased drop rate or new HNM.

Well, now that the main droppers, King Behemoth, Kirin and Nidhogg are all very beatable and beaten on a regular basis it may effect it, let's hope some expansion NMs drop it too >.>

I am a little suspicious of this recipe. I hope you don't mind if I list my reasons...

                        1) On Asura there are a number of well known crafters and one crafter who has mules with 100 skill in every craft. There have been no sales of JSE body piece thus far however. Gil would not be an issue for many of these crafters...who were first to make the BST and BLM JSE... I would expect if the real recipe was out...they would have made it by now...

                        2) The price of Shining cloth has gone down from 10 million to 5 million with at least 5 sold in the last few days. A few Noble's tunics have appeared on the AH. A new recipe would cause me to assume the price would go up, not down.

                        3) The recipe is in English on the website. There are other recipes listed on the same website by the same author...all in Japanese. This is the only real english posted on the whole website.

                        4) The note below the recipe, in Japanese, mentions a rumor that Shining cloth is being sold in Tavnazia. This I assume is false since many ppl have already visited the new city and no one has reported it.

                        5) Most products I have seen can somewhat visually resemble the ingred. used in the synth. I see no feathers or platinum on the new armor. I would assume the material would also be different from other normal armor. I imagine that Cashmire or some other new weave would be more appropriate. (Shells and tusks for new BLM JSE, Buffalo and Manticore skins/hair for the new BST JSE.)

                        6) The description on the official website mentioned "sparkling gems" on the armor. One would assume some type of gem would be included in the synth.

These are just some of my observations. I may well be wrong and this is the actual ingredient list, but something tells we the NA community has been thrown of the scent.

Nah i think it's good that you're questioning it really, seeing we havn't seen one made on my entire server yet.

                          3) This one would make me most skeptic of the recipe out of the 6 you listed.

                          4) It may actually be true about buying shining cloth. Once you get further in chapters more becomes available in the shops and you can even buy such things as high end JSE from the stores (for a hefty cost). Infact, if you read or heard about those exploiting gil in the game, it is through these NPCs that they were doing it.

                          6) I too heard about gems most likely being needed but this is also the chest piece, maybe for the pants or other pieces the gems would become needed.

Who knows though guess we'll have to wait and see a bit longer.
