I think the point is that every piece of Noble's Gear(rarity aside) isn't so great as there are better options. Many bards will pick up some pieces of our new JSE, but I doubt many will wear a full suit of it(again, rarity aside). I'll be one to pick up a full suit just because I like that gypsy look and the haste bonuses are great for lullaby heavy BC fights. I'm glad they added another gobbiebag quest because I'm already hurting for inventory space.

At least we got a full suit of JSE and it doesn't suck.

Despite the fact you can get more chr from one set of gear and more mp from another set of gear, you cant really get both, till now. Plus this gear doesnt have any of the negative sides to it like zenith or errant gear even if those -stats dont really matter to most people.

One set of +chr AND +mp gear imo is better than two full sets of +mp gear and +chr gear. Thats just too much to have laying around. Now if it only had some +skill stuff in it, then it would be a jack of all trades set of armor for brds. But the +haste and -delay stuff makes up for that big time.

Bard Equipment should change varying on the situation. For Gods or HNMs, you will likely have a set of pure +CHR Gear.

For lower-tier HNMs, or long battles such as Fafnir, you will want a set of +MP Gear to support a large alliance.

For Timed Battles or just normal wear-and-tear, this set is perfect. It gives a slight MP boost, along with +CHR and some neat Haste bonuses. Although I'm not exactly sure what benefit there is from saving 2 seconds on cast and recast times, since I don't have a problem keeping buffs on my party, and I don't have a problem landing Debuffs in the first place.

Just about the only time I would find this truly useful is Dynamis, to help speed up the Lullaby timers. In all other scenarios I don't see how the -cast time and -recast will maky any sort of difference.

You could easily get rid of all your other +chr armor in exchange for this. Granted, you can get a slight boost from other armor in the chr department, but nothing real considerable imo.

I dont know what you fight exp-wise at those higher levels, but right now I'd find a couple of seconds shaved off my finale timer would be a godsend fighting these damned crabs that like to buff themselves evry 10 seconds :mad:

In my experience I found that having the most +Wind Skill and the most +CHR on at the same time helps land debuffs better on HNM/Gods especially if you have the correct staves.

It seems like only a certain amount of these would help but I am not sure.

I just wish that BRD AF2 Gloves would drop more -_-;

I stand corrected on one point.. I was talking with some higher level whitemage friends of mine, and they were saying the body piece is a given, with 2 other peices a "maybe," and the rest {too weak to be worthwhile}.

I'm still not conviced I like the looks of it (I wasn't really planning on playing a gypsy) but I'm still really glad we have this available.

Why are you asking whms about brd equipment, lol. You can almost equip this gear, you know just as much if not more about what a brd needs than them.

Perhaps he was talking about the WHM JSE, the Noble's stuff. In which case, yes, it mostly does suck other than the body - there's little to be said for it except for +MP. No miscellaneous boosts like cure potency or anything, no skill boosts, no -Enmity.

Only MP and CHR on the other pieces, and really kind of a small amount of either. (Each piece also has a small amount of some other stat - hands have DEX, head has MND, legs have VIT, feet have AGI.)

The body piece has all the good boosts. Cure potency *and* Auto-Refresh (as well as 17 MP, which isn't quite so impressive). It's also the only one which is at all difficult to make, not surprising. To require not only a rare drop but a rare HNM drop (and not from an "easy" HNM like Behemoth or Serket either), kinda increases an item's price tag.

ROFL, yeah I could have been a lot clearer. Earlier in this thread I put forward the idea that other jobs JSE are more useful in comparision to other available equipment, and someone else brought up that WHM only really go for the tunic. I was referencing WHM equips, not BRD =).
