    I don't really have that many issues myself, but Windows 7 (even in its beta form) runs 10x better then Vista and is 100x more compatible and stable. I am switching when it comes out.

    Also, the people over on windower.net still don't have any idea what windoes 7 did that breaks the hooking. Might be a bit before they get it up and running

    its rnot really that they dont know, they just dont want to work on the problem, till W7 goes retail. They said once it does, they will update, and fix it.

    nope, it'll be active till august. they just cut it off so that no one else can get it. they had talked about it being a limited beta, but that's all i know.
    once august hits they're going to deactivate it and then make people buy it. cant just upgrade to a working account. ;.;

    Microsoft kills off public availability of Windows 7 beta • The Register Looks like they're getting ready to take down the beta.

    I had just wrote an email to a friend on how to do it ;p one sec....
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    (NOTE): You dont have to do this part, but I find alot of people have way to much junck running in windows background.

    Cleaning up your systems startup
    1) Click start, then run, then type MSCONFIG
    2) click startup tab, then click disable all, and let the system reboot
    3) Click the checkbox "do not show this again" and click ok
    ------------------------------------
    This is what you want for changeing the video settings for FFXI
    Changeing FFXI settings
    1) Click start, then run, then type REGEDIT (if you ahve VIsta then run is under applications in start menu)
    2) Follow the path
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\PlayOnlineUS\SquareEnix\FinalFantasyXI
    3) Right click reg key#0000, click modify, click Decimal, in "Value data" area
    change it to 2
    4) Right click reg key#0001, click modify, click Decimal,in "Value data" area
    change it to 1280
    5) Right click reg key#0002, click modify, click Decimal,in "Value data" area
    change it to 800
    6) Right click reg key#0003, click modify, click Decimal,in "Value data" area
    change it to 2560
    7) Right click reg key#0004, click modify, click Decimal,in "Value data" area
    change it to 1600

    try this out, and if the game lags to much change 0003 to 1280 and 0004 to 800 and
    it should run fine.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    really for key# 3 & 4, I always make that double the values of 1 & 2

    value 1 and 2 is the resolution of the game itself, and 3 and 4 are the resolution for all the 3D stuff

    AF can be forced, but unless something changed recently XI is not compatible with AA at all. <Insert DX8 client rant here>

    The best you can do to get pseudo-AA is modify the registry so the background res is higher than overlay.

    yeah, it's running fine... it's just a bit annoying when i am running and everyhting that would be aa/af'd is all jagged and doing that... erm, annoying thing it does... x.x;;
