    so far its preformance is outstanding, but can really really on that since I really dont have anything installed yet ;p

    one thing I found interesting, was that soundblaster did not have beta drivers for my X-fi card (big surprise). But I right clicked the exe file and chose an option "trouble shoot compatibility" and the driver install worked.....

    Yeah Vista Works great, **NOW**, espically on newer machines that are better than average models.

    What i find wrong with vista in the beging was that it didnt' work with half of the gadgets that were out at the time. But Microsoft and others say it's not there fault, it's the Gadget's maker's responsibilty to make them compatiable. KInda like FFXI, i'm not sure who fixed it so they can work together, SE or Microsoft. I'm in the dark on that one.

    Kinda like Yoda said, Fear leads to Anger, and Anger leads to Hate.

    Ppl feared vista ( won't run ffxi!@!!), then it made them mad (It's giveing me a headach to get it to work) , now they hate it (Screw it, I'm going back to XP), so here Come Windows 7 to the rescue.

    You expected the Windows Desktop development team to sit on their ass?

    95 -> 98 - 3 years
    98 -> ME - 2 years
    2000 -> XP - 1 year

    Waiting for Vista was an oddity. By the time Windows 7 ships, almost 2 years will have passed.

    OS X goes through roughly 18 month product cycles.

    Your tinfoil hat fell off and your stupid is showing.

    Vista was a grand design. The project suffered from feature creep and poor project management. Eventually feature after feature had to be held back or outright dropped until finally they were told to just ship it and let the maintenance group work on it. The moment it shipped, work started on Windows 7 from the completed code from the Windows Server group.

    I really, really doubt that. First of all, it wouldn't make sense for them to delay a beta. Secondly, it's damaged (not severely, but significantly) their image and market share. Thirdly, there is a huge community of people out there willing to do beta tests; look at the Windows 7 Beta. It wouldn't make sense for them to put a ton of burden on people who are almost certainly not going to be reporting bugs anyway; especially when they can ship a Beta to people who will put it through its paces, and have an easy and sensible "REPORT PROBLEMS HARR" button on each window.

    Does anyone remember Microsoft ME? It was crap! It was the transition from Windows 98 to Windows XP and it blew more penis than a penis blowing machine. (Which in fact, Microsoft ME was used as the primary OS for most automated phelatio devices)

    It wouldn't be surprised if microsoft said...hmm...what would make xp better?

    I know! Let's send out these intial ideas in a package called vista, and then see how they work out. It keeps us making money, and gives real world feedback as to how to make our next big upgrade.

    They used the consumer base as a test bed, which to us is dick, but to them is good bussiness sense. I still roll with XP personally.

    Malacite: Of course they're moving on. It would be nearly impossible for them to repair Vista's public image at this point.

    In a lot of ways, Windows 7 is evolutionary of Vista, not revolutionary; at least so far. But it is an improvement. And that's pretty much all they need.

    So let me get this straight... Vista is still an utter PR nightmare (thought not as bad as most claim, seriously people need to stop Q_Q it works just fine for everyone I know who has it. I have to question just wtf these ppl are doing with their PCs) and now they're already jumping to the next OS?

    I really wish Bill Gates still ran that company. Heads would be rolling god damn it.
