The first limit break was annoying, but the rest weren't all that bad. G2 was doable by any lone 75, especially now since they been nerfed and the next three were 100% soloable.

... yet G3 still remains a royal pain in the ass, imHo... specially if you can't find help. I attempted solo'n sections of that and recieved very limit'd success.

{edit 2.0}... I/LS was right on G3 and I got turned around from people correcting Rank4 mission, lolz... long weekend... my head hurtz.

@ Firewind - white mage will get more JA's and spells to make it the best healing class im thinking... that is what the class is intended to be btw even though it hasn't seemed that way with TP burn pt's...

There's a few map quests I'd like to do in there but I don't have any of the jobs that can even solo to the second level, much less the bottom. When you're down to 16 maps to get (including the two PvP zones... nobody does Ballista on my server any more), you start to notice which ones are harder than others.

Most of those map quests can be duo'd by a mage/healer and any melee DD/Nin who won't miss a few hundred exp. I know cause I've duo'd them for a friend a few times. The first and second MRs are easy, so all that's left is just having a sacrificial lamb drag the mobs away from the ??? long enough for the map getter to trade his sphere.

Can't we just fight the Elite 4 instead? I'd rather do that than do new fetch quests. In that same boat though, I hope they're all soloable, it was incredibly annoying to do G1-G4, and the ones where you needed to get drops from the mobs were especially annoying until they increased the drop rate.

Whm/Rdm can Refresh and Convert, while a Whm/Sch can Accession and Sublimate. I don't see Whm being outclassed like you think anytime soon.

Sublimation yourself while refreshing your party via AoE Accession? Didn't think it would be all that difficult to figure out.

Hell, you think you guys have a reason to complain, but that's nothing compared to War and Thf. War has one post 50 ability, and it's pretty much useless. And Thf already is seen as useless 90% of the time, but the only thing they're slated to get is a new Steal ability (because the last two are so useful) and a new tier in Treasure Hunter. Joy.

All in all, I'm not seeing anything that interests me too much from all this news. I loathed leveling and still do really, so if they're to increase the level cap they're going to have to make some damn big changes to make going to 99 less trouble. And much like the last two mini-expansions I passed on, if these new ones don't seem worth buying, well then I'm just not buying em. I bought ACP on blind faith that it would be a fun and engaging mission line, well ain't no way I'm doing that again.

I think you're forgetting with new WHM levels will come new JA and spells. You honestly think WHM won't get some new things that will make them more useful as the job SE intended it to be? Honestly I'm a bit more nervous that they might nerf RDM and SCH a bit.

Think of what they did to NIN when they thought it was surpasing their decided on uber tank job PLD... I see something in the future to rebalance things. I just hope they don't go overboard.

Thing is those spells have to do something that makes it worth having a WHM over having all of this available at once:

Convert
Sublimation
AoE Haste
AoE Refresh
AoE Stoneskin
AoE Phalanx
AoE Regen II
AoE Status Heals
AoE Gravity (From Manifestation)
AoE Sleep (From Manifestation)
AoE Sleep II (From Manifestation)
AoE Aspir (From Manifestation)

Given Squeenix's history of stealing abilities from WHM to give to their favourite classes and history of making all of the loot actually useful to WHMs in updates not equipabble by WHMs I can't really see it happening...

As it stand the only extra things I can see WHM getting with RDM/SCH and SCH/RDM can't get would be:

AoE Repose (Still available to SCH/WHM)
AoE Cure V (Assuming Accession works with it)
AoE Regen III (Assuming Accession works with it)

I'm not asking for WHM to suddenly get all of the black magic spells listed above but my point still stands: Do you really think that the new Healing and Divine spells that Sqeueenix said they are going WHM will actually better them? There was no mention of WHM getting new Enhancing Magic spells or Enfeebling Magic spells.

Accession (and Manifestation) either need moving up to SCH50 or made completely unavailable to to used with any spell above Lv40 otherwise it's going to giving two already overpowered jobs the few remaining reasons to invite a White Mage to a party anymore.

You aren't really reading my posts. Why would you invite a job that can only use two of those abilities at once when two other classes, that are already prefered over white mages for most things in general, will have access to all four?

And you are forgetting the utility uses of Sublimation: immunity to sleep and it is a JA so can be used when low on MP and Convert is on cooldown essentially making it impossible for a RDM or SCH to run out of MP. Then you have to consider what Accession can do to a full set of RDM spells instead of just those up to Lv37.

I'm scared guys. I need someone to tell me it's all going to be ok.

My server is being destroyed, and I have no idea what's going to happen to my Red Mage now that people can get Refresh and Convert through using it as a subjob.

I'm sure the 24 levels after 75 are not going to be spell-less. Refresh 2 or refreshga? Convert 2? They have said they are not going to let subjobs take over for the main jobs.

And also notice there are job adjustments every time there are level increases. Anything that is truly game breaking could be adjusted as well. They have shown a whm using convert true, but if that does end up being game breaking they could change it next update (or even with an emergency update two days later).


Big changes are coming, but don't panic yet.

another way this could be made lots easier; quest EXP. Give players a way to cash in on the quests in their 'completed' log, too. 75 players could have enough EXP built up to instantly rocket them up several levels; then it would just be a matter of recovering their skills.

So you guys think your job will die when you can sub RDM and Refresh and convert? Honestly this will allow other healer jobs to fill the role we RDM have been forced to do. You finally can be the "Pink Mage" now. Is that so terrible?

Also don't you WHM realize that more healers available would mean more experience parties possible?Honestly having 2-3 main jobs that could heal might be good.

As a RDM I can say I really hope that this means SE will open a door so I don't have to be "Pink Mage" all of the time. I hate being "Pink Mage". I want to do more of what I"m meant to do debuffs, buffs and the like. I might roll /SCH sub now if I don't have to heal in parties.

My name may end up getting usurped by someone who hasn't been seen on ffxiah since 2005, and only once at that. I'm aware that in the early days there were a couple of server merges, but this is the first since the game has matured. I would hope that SE has plans to give the names of active players priority over people who haven't been around for two or more years. If they decide to come back, then they can damn well get yellow-named.

That's what I'm keeping my fingers crossed for, but I've already come to terms with the fact that I'm more than likely going to be forced to change my name. Doesn't mean I'm happy about it, though. Sigh. Both of my characters I'll probably need to change my name for, my main and also my 2box character. I guess I better start thinking of new ones. ._.
