Re: Special Task Force. Where art thou?
some crazy fishermen just look like bots...but I guess if they are bots they'll get it soon.
The trouble is the last time I went Sardine fishing(I was bored and looking for a party) I lost 3 sabki rigs XDShadowneko's FFXI Newbie Guide 2009

Re: Special Task Force. Where art thou?
Real fishermen don't fish in Windurst. There are much better places to get moat carp. You can safely assume that anyone fishing actually inside Windurst for more than an hour or so is a bot - it's marginally possible that a real fisherman might fish there for a short while to accumulate guild points, but for long term skill or profit? No way.

Re: Special Task Force. Where art thou?
Yeah I saw those the other day, they've been there a while now.
RMT on Titan have used bots exlusively to desynth copper rings to make copper ingots and what not, so it doesn't have to be fish they're after. As it is, they seem to be playing into the deflation trend now rather than inflate things, but for how long is anyone's guess.

Re: Special Task Force. Where art thou?
Honestly I've tried complaining about the fish botting and got a response something along the lines of fish botting is the least of our worries SE has bigger fish to fry like the POSers or Flee toolers and Voke bots on high priced NM gear or items and HNMs. In my eyes a hack is a hack.

Re: Special Task Force. Where art thou?
I fish for moat carp in Waters a lot on my main and a mule. Using insect paste in Waters results in one of two fish: Moat Carp or Gold Carp. It is a slow but steady way to both skill-up and accumulate Moat Carp. You can do the same in Rabao I suppose and catch Sandfish instead of Gold Carp. Sandfish sell for less to NPCs though.Originally posted by Icemage View PostReal fishermen don't fish in Windurst. There are much better places to get moat carp. yea... they should ban the obvious first. It's easier, too. There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,

transform a yellow spot into the sun.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. No matter what they did there was going to be complaints and people saying they should do/have done something else.Originally posted by Jei View Postyea... they should ban the obvious first. It's easier, too.

We have had spates of that on Bahamut, but it seems to be fairly quiet in Windy atm - now the rusty cap desynthers in Yughott...

Re: Special Task Force. Where art thou?
We have it on Pandy.
They actually disappeared for a while after I made a GM call (maybe a coincidence, no idea), but they're back again.
They just fish until fatigued, switch to another character, fish, switch, etc... all freakin day.
Thing is, moat carps aren't worth fishing anymore for normal players because of it. But the RMT are making millions...

Re: Special Task Force. Where art thou?
I reported a fishing bot that was always in the exact same place in NSandy, everytime I went through there. The GM thanked me and said it would be taken care of, but I haven't been back to actually check if there was still a bot there.
In another case, I was running around West Saruta and I come to this lil watering hole near the entrance to PWindy when I noticed a TON of PCs fishing. As I got closer I quickly realized they were all RMT, probably bots too. There were 4 other real PCs and we talked about it for a few minutes. One of the guys said he had called a GM, and he told us that the GM would take care of it. Two days later, I saw the exact same thing happening.
I'm not at my computer right now, but I took a few screenshots of it. I'll try and post em when I get home...

Re: Special Task Force. Where art thou?
-_-; Where is a better spot to fish for moat carp? I don't know if I can call myself a 'real fisherman' (skill lvl is only 12 or so), but I've always fished in Windy when going for moat carp. I'm not trying to be combative, I really would like to know. ^^Originally posted by Icemage View PostReal fishermen don't fish in Windurst. There are much better places to get moat carp.
