it popped (as normal from Detectors) on Bismark over the weekend.
/edit if it matter the specifics are:
the LS that popped went around and killed all the lower detectors at all 4 entrances and then setup camps at two.

i think is just a bug. thats causing all these problems. the bug might cause SC to be trapped in one detector and if that detector is killed, the computer still think SC is up so it doesnt reset therefore, SC wont spawn for days maybe. who freakin knows, stupid GM told me its workin fine. i have no clue whats going on75RDM/75RNG

My LS Tried for 2 days this week, no luck. Talked to a GM about it also. Same shit as the pic posted. We went around to all the lower detectors and let them spawn 2-3 times, kill them and move on. Seeing as its popping ok on some servers and not at all or infrequently on others it seems to be a very buggy NM (i remember this happening before)
the only other possibility is the detector(s) which he pops from has been altered and people who have popped mistakenly aggroed it (maybe one of the upper ones or something odd like a unique one)
The GMs told me they are fielding 2-3 calls per day about Steam Cleaner, and yet they still stick with this S-E line 'this NM is working as it should' however they specifically refuse to confirm that Steam Cleaners pop condition had been altered... saying they can't give out that information.
After speaking with some JP players they seem to be of the same mind: that its just a Buggy NM.
anyways i suggest everyone who can't pop it sumbits it as a bug. i can't see what harm a quick reset of the ve'lu palace zone would do...Wandering Minstrel~

well, i was on my way up to sky. while our leader was runnin around tryin to get curtana from seiryu island first entrance. she aggroed and trained. and Steam Cleaner popped and oned her.
wtf. from what i've heard from some ls. i think they either changed pop condition that the NM can be popped in all entrances on detectors in the basement. or its just bugged that it travels outside of detectors that it suppose to spawn on.
i dunno, its been hella long since we had SC. is messin with peoples game play.
yeah. when i tried poppin him that day, it didnt pop -_- so i dunno75RDM/75RNG

Yes the conditions have been altered. And yes the Japanese all ready for the most part know how it works. And no I don't know how they knew but I have my suspicions about JP-SE.
Heres basically what I understand was changed.
Each SC area has 3 detectors that you have to worry about. The one at the top that doesn't really move much and two in the basement that constantly float in circles. The ones that do not move much will never spawn SC as has always been. But it is now possible for SC's pop to get allocated to one of them. SC's pop will be allocated to one of them, but it will never pop it because it can't. So what you have to do is, kill the ones on the bottom first, and then the one on top so that the spawn order is altered so that the one that was on top now spawns down below. Once that one is respawned down below it can safely pop SC. This is 100% but this is what we've been able to understand from the Japanese.

Scenario A: Kill one at entrance, and then 2 basement ones.
You kill the first one which is holding SC but can't summon it.
You kill (or don't kill) ones in the basement.
Because the one that was previously holding SC was killed, the next Detector that spawns will be the new "SC holder"
Oh look, the new SC holder is still the one at the entrance that can't summon SC.
Scenario B: Kill at basement, then entrance.
You first kill a normal Detector
Then you kill the SC Holder
When the one in the basement spawns, the game will see that there is no current SC holder, and assign that detector as the new SC holder.
I have no idea if this is actually true or not, but it's worth a shot.
Also, if this is true and multiple parties / groups are killing detectors, things could get really screwy / confusing.
However, in the past SC never came from a *specific* detector, since you never had to actually check all 8 spawns to find it.

we spent 3 hrs going to each entrance and letting each detector pop 2-4 times then offing em and going to next detector. and so on and so on at each entrance. nothin
we've tried killing everything that moves at the spawn zones and letting em repop. nothin.
we've tried old school pulling from below and letting em repop. nothing, we've camped below for hours, nothing. havent seen him since late dec early january on bismarck. havent seen any of the usual people with gems of the east in their bizarre's in ages.
