The definitive BCNM50 thread?

I did BCNM 6 times the other day and failed 5 of them. The only time we won was when the 2 BSTs in our PT used their taming skills and tamed the CORRECT mandras. It was a walkover.

Some advice from me:

The Black Mage ability (black sign?) is a must, that black mandra can resist you easily.

A GOOD Bard is a must. Avoid all Taru Bards since their HP is too low, they'll die easily. Elvaan/galka preferred.

A good PT formation, with at least one BST. The most easiest way to win BCNM50 is with 4 BSTs, one bard, and a Red Mage/black mage. I was so impressed with BSTs in that success that I decided to level mine up^^ Good luck.

From my personal experience, I still believe 2 mages+1 bard is required... Back then when I do it, mages are all tarus, and each mage still use 4 drinks + 1-4 ethers per battle. That's how mp intensive these battles are. If having only 1 mage, all fighters must rely on hi-potion then that means more money spent.

Another point of having 2 mages is that you have 2 signed silent. Unless you can kill the blackie in 2 mins, then 2nd one is required... You all know how badly resisted it is to cast normal one on it (only 1 out of like 10 try will work).

Bst sure rules these lv40 BCNM, but it is useless in lv60 ones.
And of coz if you find like 3 BST or more, you may not even need a bard... Lets these plants take the hate on themselves... ^^

As for no Taru Bar...d... That hurts... >< I have mad mp, so I wear all charm+ items... Good at putting weakening songs to these mandros.

Personally I think our formation was perfect even with 1 round 2 poeple dead at once we still conquered. I agree 2 mages and at least 1 bard is a must. If you can find that many bsts thats great but they are hard to find. Taru brd is cool yes their hp is lower but they can cast cure a lot more which helps. If the pt isnt gettng the plants off them before they almost die then it wont matter if another race can stand 2 more hits than a taru.

I am back. My desktop is setup... Was on for couple hours today, got my rdm to 32 to learn dispel. But I want my 200 something K!!! Even tho I dunno where to spend them... >< Where have you been!
Damn refresh is going back up to around 280k... Gay... we could have each get like 10k more. Maybe we should plan another one. ^^

Well Ed i've managed to get my WHM from 15 to 33 in four days so it won't take me long to get to level 40 at which point i'll be looking for BCNM invites. Tarutaru WHM, who can resist

I've given up on BCNM and am now looking to buy at around 230~240K. I waited all weekend and it didn't drop. I'm POed that someone bought one for 280K. Cost of these damn things are p***ing me off. Who stands to benefit from me having Refresh? PT members. I guess the same could be said for Raise 2 and WHMs.

Wait at AH on Fri, around JST 11pm~1am. That when the stock replenish. Most Jap PT do BCNM on Fri and Sat evening. Probably only 1-2 scrolls will be sold at ur buying price. Be fast.

Ya we freaked out when we saw 12 refresh in there;; We didnt think we could sell them first 2 sold above 270 last was 230 so wasnt too bad. Hate to break it to you but red mage not having refresh is not like whm not having raise2. Raise2 isnt always used only difference is less exp taken which you already know not always used. Refresh is always always used like 4 times per battle if not more i.e on red. blm , whm, pld faster lvling benefits all not to mention soloing hp and mp regen never sit. So it is a must for a red mage. First time I did bcnm we died there is a post somewhere here about it but back then it was 1 million so my poor red mage went into hiding after that for a while. Now its about 250 more attainable. Unfortunately farming is alot harder and I understand your pain;; But if all else fails sell the CP if you have at least 30-40k can make over 100k+ maybe more depending on your rank
