did promyvion - mea a few days ago. the BCNM battle went.....bad. there were 3 parties all killed badly. i was a smn/whm and it resisted my only astral flow ability. couldnt pull off the other 2. knocked out of range during the second one and died during the third one. all i can say is promyvion=hellx2

Did Holla last night... wasn't as bad as Dem but thats cuz some of us knew what were were doing. 3rd floor gave us trouble.. we only had 12 people and couldn't kill all of the strays in time to warp, we gave up but i got to the 4th floor right before it closed...
Dem had a green glow to it... Holla had a blue glow... yea... so heres some pics

It's kinda hard to see but I guess each Crag has a different mob in place of the Gorger/Thinker/?/? (only been to Holla and Dem) I guess this is what the boss looks like since he was along the lines of the Gorger in Dem. It looks like a spider/treant thing.

Just killing some strays to get to the next lvl.. ^^ I hate those things... Does anyone recommend killing them? or just leaving them be till the tele goes out and destroy them quick.. There was a dispute last night since they respawn so fast no one knew which was the best.

I got to the BC fight cuz at the last minute i told everyone to try and tele in hopes that atleast 6 of us could get through and finish the BC. There were to many strays to kill so for some it would just be luck... Only 3 got through >_< so i just went to the castle and inside to take a pic.

Yeah, they were kinda being an elitist bumhole weren't they.

Anyways, we probably lasted like 4-5 mins and got it down half HP. I was probably tanking for about a minute of that because our tank died due to the lack of heals from our SMN/WHM disconnecting.

Our other party that was with us got it down to like 1/6th HP, so they said, and they lasted about the same amount of time.

The record was 2 ½ minutes I believe.

For those of you who are having difficulty on the BCNM fights - which Anima were you using to take the boss down with? Terroanima is the one I currently have, and I know there are a few others.

...or were you just trying to bully through on sheer power alone?

My LS did Dem last weekend with 12, it was an utter and complete joke.

Mea we went in with 18, 4 RNGs, 3 BLMs and a partridge in a pear tree. We got to the spire in under 40 minutes barring that serverwide kick that Sunday. The Mea boss raped all 3 PTs with a bansaw. No we didn't have any animas, but we had everything under control till about 15% health, then the Delver (NM) went berserk. Gonna try again today with a sack full of high potions.

We have yet to undertake Holla *shudder*

Honestly though, I have to say the Promyvions are a little too difficult for just the first chapter in the expansion. I'm not saying they are impossible, but they require very specific party configurations and a small fortune in restorative items that alot of new players just can't afford. Had they tailored each Promyvion to be suited for a single level capped party, then it'd be more accessible to others.

The whole level capped aspect of these areas is kind of asinine if you ask me. Their argument is that its lower leveled, so more people can play, but the difficulty level is up there with some of the nastier BCNMs in Zilart (arguably high level stuff). i dunno, you shouldn't HAVE to dig up X number of RNGs and spent several thousand gil on medicines to even have a fighting chance.

Ah well, I guess its to keep the Valkrum n00bs out of Lufaise Meadows and beyond. I smell major rebalancing in upcoming patches.

Overall, I think that a lot of people are missing the fact that SquareEnix is NOT making it so you can just muscle through these zones on brute force alone - they are designed that you should explore all of your options, seek out special items, etc before you go and challenge the bosses. The Rare EX animas make these battles OBSCENELY easy - there are mentions of battles with records of 3 to 4 minutes, with no losses at all.

This also seems to be born out by the new HNMs that are appearaing - ones that completely devour even level 75 alliances with little difficulty. Its not just a matter of having the stats and the 100 million gil worth of gear anymore - but of being willing to really go in depth into the areas, and find the odd quirks that are going to make it so you can clear an area.
