Then, what is the proper procedure for a World specific post in this era of FF14 encroachment? Use titles like:

'[Ifrit] <some LS> <some event> recruiting!"

and toss it to the "General FFXI Discussion"? Would the moderators enforce the use of the [World] to tag titles?

There's no reason to enforce anything, but that seems like it would be effective. The signature of an active poster would probably give the most visibility to the information, since regardless of where you post such a thread it's likely to spend no more than a day on the first page of New Posts.

I've seen a few other forums switch to vB4 lately ... is that on the horizon for this forum? I've heard that vB3 is going to stop being supported in the near future and I was just wondering if we can expect to see major changes here as well. (BG just went under it, as have a few other non-ffxi forums I frequent.) Just wondering.

Well, I think (as TM would put it) that's above his pay grade and Ping would have to make that transition. So I don't see that happening in the near future.
