Ah, okie. What level is Hoo Mjuu the Torrent? A level30 can solo it farely, na? What level was I when I camped it for a week or so? 58. What's my drop count? 1/64. :r
I was more paying attention on how he/she misspelled theive, then corrected it with "thieve(s)", the more TH's the more chance of a rare drop because TH stacks? Dunno
Originally posted by kazuri I've also read somewhere (I think FFXIO?) that level takes effect during item drop chances. For example, let's say there's a level10 Taru BLM (Bob), and a level58 Taru BLM (Tato). If they both killed 100 Crawlers in Sarutabaruta, chances are... Bob will get more Silk Threads, because the monster (Crawler) is more into Bob's level range.
This means, I need to level another job to 30+~ for farming at Valkurm, 'cause 58BLM killing Hill Lizards isn't gonna do it.
According to the GM my friend spoke with, this is the case. It may explain why a number of my friends got Emperor's Hairpin in their first few kills fighting Valkurm Emperor in the early 30s, but other people in late levels are 1/10 or worse on him.
He also said that TH does stack directly (the TH present adds up).
I am 100% positive that level range affects drops. When I take a LV60 to valkurm and kill lizards, I am lucky to get a skin every 30 kills. When leveling there, they drop 1 every 2~3 kills.

But you have a party when you level there. So they have a 6x as high drop chance as well.
That as well Omena, but think of the odds! Same thing for me too, Valkurm Hill Lizards were my farming tools. It is true, there's an EXP PT composed of 6 people, so it does incraese the chance for drops even more. But look; solo is... 1 lizard skin out of every 5-15~ kills in my case. I clearly remember that when I was leveling my THF at Valkurm, I got stacks and stacks during 1 level gain (I told them I needed some for a quest and they kept passing every single one! <<). Now, although it does increase the chance, it can't possibly increase it by 1-15 to 50-60, that's way too huge.
And, this kinda messes up the NM Camping thing, yea? I guess we need to spread this around so high levels won't camp Hoo Mjuu the Torrent or Jaggedy-Eared Jack just so they can sell dozens and dozens of stupid items for gil. :r
more THF's and more TH seems to lead to better drops...my LS has killed Simurgh about 7 times in the last 10 days, 5 Strider Boot drops and one Damacus Ingot...that's nuts....we usualy take 2-4 THF's and there's also usually 1-3 DRK/THF's there, and we seem to almost always get some good drop...as before with just 1 or no THF's we never really got anything
Most memorable WoW vent convos on Burning Legion:
"Dude...I just wrote a sonnet, about taking a dump." - Kronos (2006)
"Guys, I just set my oven on fire by trying to cook ramen in it, and broke the fire alarm with a frying pan. I think I'm in trouble." - Brawny (2006)
"But Hisdon, why wouldn't you want The Unblockable Shield - wait a minute..." - Sasukekun (2005)

Like I said, TH stacks directly. For every THF and /THF you have there's another TH or TH2 added on top of your chances of getting rare items.
So take a THF with you when hunting rare items (G1 items and keys for sure)!^^

A long time ago they changed it in a patch, having level drastically affect item drop rates. The closer you are to a monsters level the higher the drops. This was meant to stop the massive rape farming of low level beastmen zones.
Why can't we bring all this back again? -Drew Seymour Price, 53drk

I wish we could still farm that way, it was really easy and good as i remembered it :/
I read that entry at Linaa and Siya's LJ, and I remember she ended the entry regretting she forgot to ask the GM if Treasure Hunter stacked or not.
Well, a couple of days ago I made a GM call and when the GM was through he asked "Is there anything else I can help you with today?"
So I asked, "Does having multiple THFs in the PT affect drops? In other words, does the Treasure Hunter ability stack?"
The GM replied to me: "I am sorry, I can not help in that area. There are many websites with extremely useful information, where other players discuss these issues."
Edit: I realize that TH seems to stack, I just wanted to hear it from a GM, lol
Yeah in a later entry Linaa/Siya asked a gm tried to confirm the treasure hunter thing and the GM was an asshat to them, saying he couldn't get involved in in-game matters blah blah blah.
Would it kill them to share what little knowledge they have about this game? (if they have any inside knowledge at all)

I, personally, think that TH doesn't work on RA and RA/EX items, as they don't seem to take up item slots. It's a long shot, but here's a subtle little thing I've noticed lately.
I've noticed that when solo, you'll only ever get 1 item (aside from crystals, RA and RA/EX), and when ur in a PT of 2, the most "normal" items you'll potentially get is 2, 3 for 3, and so on. Each person in the alliance adds a "slot" that can result in either a normal item or nothing, and TH likely rerolls the THF's slot however many times the TH exists for better items droppable in that "slot". RA and RA/EX items do not take up any slots, as you'll notice you can get a normal item along with the RA item when solo (like say a chest key).
This is just what I've observed lately, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though I'd like to see a screenshot of a solo person getting more than 1 normal drop from a mob, not including crystals, beastman seals, or RA or RA/EX items.
Potentially, killing stroper chymes in a full alliance is like killing 18 of them XD Maybe instead of competing, everyone should just alliance and lot for the drop instead XD

That is a really good idea, too bad most people would see the drop and I think "It's MIEN!!!11!"
