I consider myself haijin in the sense that my life takes place in vana-diel

however when you look at the JP haijins and their counter stop gils, armada hauberk etc, you feel as if you're nothing :/
I really should thank you for it afterall it was your life that taught me the purpose of all life.....Purpose of life, is to end.

    I hate my life.

Damn... I really can't wait to play. I'll buy an FFXI strategy guide (even though people say they are useless)... just because I want to read it through. Also, I might see a pic of my char. in there... who knows?

Looking forward to meeting lots of new players. Sure, there will be bad players. But there will be a lot of potentially good players, too, people who just need a little help learning their way around Vana'diel. And I'm looking forward to helping them, and to expanding the ranks of my linkshell in so doing.

It's like I told one of our newer recruits recently. The more people we have... the more people we can help.

This explains a lot. People who think strategy guides are useless presumably don't like to "get skills" and "play well" :dead:

Jonny, have you seen this strat guide? its horrible. It says that walking slowly will make it so enemies that aggro to sneak will not hear you. It also has info up to about level 20, says meditate has a 1 min recharge.

              Its really, really gay.

If I had a whm high enough(and didn't have to remake my character) I'd just sit in Valkurm or quifm and offer raises (for a price)

Oh, I guess I've gotten too used to the Japanese guides  How can anyone make such a bad guide with so much information freely available, though?

I wouldn't say it's the lamest. I have seen a Japanese offer Dezone for 500 in Valkrum. I have used him twice. I also don't see anything wrong with Raise for Gil. WHM earn gils by teleporting. If people wanted and are willing to pay for it, it's fine.

I think its ok if the one that is dead offer to pay for a raise or a person offer gil to get a dezone, but to say to a person thats dead that u only raise for money is lame..

Speaking as a WHM, this is exactly my attitude.

I will not charge for a raise. I may choose not to perform a raise for various reasons (I am in a party and do not wish to disrupt it, I do not have time to perform the raise, I am otherwise occupied, or the person asking is too far away, for example), but gil is never a consideration in whether I will raise someone or not. If someone chooses to donate gil after I have already decided to raise them, I will happily accept it as a token of their gratitude, but I will not ask for it, and if I have already said no, offering me gil will not change my mind. (Well, if someone offered me like 10k I might think about it if the only person being inconvenienced by it is myself. But if it means inconveniencing my party, the answer would still be no.)

As far as I am concerned, I am a WHM, it is my duty to help when I am in a position to do so. This includes performing raises when the raise is not an unreasonable inconvenience for me and does not interfere with other obligations. It is also worthy of note that I'm willing to travel farther and inconvenience myself more for other WHM's than I am for people of other classes... and also for members of my linkshell as opposed to others. Yes, it's favoritism. No, I don't care.

By the same token, if I will not pay for a raise, because I object to the practice. If it means I have to HP and walk and lose the experience, so be it, but I'm not going to fill the pocket of those who would exploit the most precious gift of their profession for cash. I personally ENJOY performing raises. It's a privilege as well as a duty.

On another note, however, flaming me because I say "no" to a raise request is an instant ticket to my blacklist. Likewise, I find repeated begging to be somewhat insulting; if I was in a position to help someone, I'd have done it the first time.

Anyway, that's my thoughts on the subject.
