Well my exact problem is you know how alt left shift switches between English and Japanese? And while in Japanese mode, alt ~ switches between actual JP, and roman alphabet? Well for some reason, every once in a while my keys will screw up and alt ~ functions as alt left shift (which has no effect on anything).

So all I can do is switch between English input, and Japanese Romajii input (which is in essence the exact same thing).

    Any ideas?

that usually happens to me when i'm adding kaomoji to macros, and forget to switch back to NA input after editing them. so what happens is this:

open macro editor (in game NOT FFXIutilplus)
      -select empty macro
      -select macro line
      -switch to jp input
      -start typing
      -switch back to NA input
      -close macro edit

If i do that everything is fine, BUT if i forget to switch back to NA input and just close macro edit my font gets stuck in ‚s‚g‚h‚r?@‚r‚s‚x‚k‚d?B
Or sometimes I can only type in symbols and have to re-log into the game for it to fix. Try using alt shift and alt ~ alternatively if your ime "glitches."

Deodorant, if this is also what u r talking about, then pressing Shift+CapsLock should fix it, just like i said in the previous post.

this is completely different from so-called "direct input" mode of japanese IME, which is the same as normal alphabet inputs, thus a 1-byte characers mode. the "style" Ghostraven is refering to, on the other hand, is a 2-byte characters mode, and this in turn proves that japanese IME is working at that moment, since normal english input doesn't allow u to type them. (or, to say this rather correctly, there's no need for 2-byte characters.)

Damn for some reason I read that as "alt+caps lock" ... so it never worked ... hrm when/if it happens again I'll try and see whether that works
