Re: The E3 2011 thread
I understand that, and do welcome that feature, even though I would not really use it...... now if they are going to do that, I would like to see it reversed as well, I want to play 3DS games on my Cafe, and NGP games on my PS3, I would use that alot more.Originally posted by Omgwtfbbqkitten View PostAt the same time, they have to adapt to a world where someone can transfer their games, music and such between an iPhone, iPad and a Mac. The console and handheld gaming experience have to evolve a little to stay relevant in a more mobile-oriented culture. This is a way of doing that.
Some how I think this is not going to work like people think it is going too...... I have a feeling many are going to be disappointed.Originally posted by Omgwtfbbqkitten View PostTransferring your game from console to handheld/controller and back seems like a nice convenience. Now I can take my console games elsewhere.-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: The E3 2011 thread
100% agree with you here. The controller may be a "hand held gaming device" (notice how I put it in quotes), but it's going to be something so incredibly miniscule. You won't be able to play actual full fledged games on it, but possible mini-games or other random tasks that would pertain to games you own. It's not going to go anywhere near replacing the 3DS or even a gameboy advanced for that matter.Originally posted by Kailea View PostSome how I think this is not going to work like people think it is going too...... I think it will be more of an advanced version of what the VMU for Dreamcast was.-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: The E3 2011 thread
Not only that, but I don't even have a PS2 anymore or my old memory cards - I transferred all my saves to my PS3's HDD because at the time I didn't foresee Sony pulling out the BC like assholes. Also I thought they owned (at least partially) Insomniac o.O?Originally posted by Omgwtfbbqkitten View PostSaying "If I wanted a portable game, I'd play my X" is the same thing people said about PS2 BC when it was gutted from PS3. It doesn't change the fact that someone like me would really like not having to hook up a PS2 any time I get the urge to play a PS2 game, which makes me unhook my Wii and move shit around. People like the convenience of BC.

Nikkei has been 100% accurate on the details so far:Originally posted by Etra View Post100% agree with you here. HD
Backward compatible
Controller with a touch screen.
They stated you'd be able to enjoy the console games away from the console as well. At this point I wouldn't doubt them.
Sony and Nintendo know Apple is only going to be come more and more of a force in the industry, they're going to show us how they'll compete with NGP, 3DS and their consoles and in hopes it will get the casual iOS market interested in something a bit more sophisticated as games go. They can't beat iOS games on price, but they can show people why their games cost more and why they're worth that investment.
Hell, Steve Jobs rigged his show to compete with E3 for press attention. Its time for Sony, MS and Nintendo to push back.
Turns out they just had a deal with Sony for as long as their contract lasted.Originally posted by MalaciteAlso I thought they owned (at least partially) Insomniac o.O?Last edited by Omgwtfbbqkitten; 06-05-2011, 12:13 PM.

Re: The E3 2011 thread
Unless they have super secret NASA technology, there is no way the controller will have the same graphical power that the new system will have. That, or the graphics will be crazy old. I don't see how it's going to work unless these new controllers cost $150 each.Originally posted by Omgwtfbbqkitten View PostThey stated you'd be able to enjoy the console games away from the console as well. Considering he saved the company from failure, and investor confidence in Apple rises and falls directly with news of his health and likelihood of leaving the company? There's kind of a reason they reward him so much.

Re: The E3 2011 thread
I just dont see how this will happen...... then controllers would pretty much ahave to have the hardware that is in the 3DS to pull somthing like that off, and if that is the case, they would cost 150-200 each.... I am not paying over 100.....hell not paying over 70 for a controller.Originally posted by Omgwtfbbqkitten View PostThey stated you'd be able to enjoy the console games away from the console as well. Yeah he's a greedy, over-paid dick who took them for all they're worth - not that it wasn't within his rights to do so, but still.Originally posted by Feba View PostConsidering he saved the company from failure, and investor confidence in Apple rises and falls directly with news of his health and likelihood of leaving the company?
