I actually enjoy RP servers, though I don't RP, myself. People tend to be more mature and thoughtful, though they may not be as good at the game as somebody on a PvP server. I find PvP servers to be filled with people who know how to get things done. An RP-PvP server must be pretty cool.

They're being merged for Cata though, don't know when but they are for Cata.

If you're a Priest go Shadow, they are ridiculously overpowered right now. Well all of the caster classes currently are (Especially Warlocks who can Aone shot fully geared 80's) but Shadow Priests have gone from merely powerful to "My Rogue now sees the entire world in monochrome due to the amount of time she spend waiting in the graveyard".

The Holy tree is currently broken for Priests so if you want to heal, go Discipline for PvP. Holy's still okay for raids but don't expect to be competitive.

So I was reading some patch notes and it turns out my talents have been reset ... again... fucking hell. Guess I'll be spending part of tonight fucking around with that instead of doing my dailies. Been looking around various websites for a "cookie cutter" build for both shadow and holy but haven't found any for this patch yet. Lol.

Well considering that on my Batlegroup Horde has to wait about 30 mins plus for a BG pop and Alliance have something like a 90% win ratio it's a bit demoralising. Rampage is a terrible, terrible battlegroup and I only stay on it because Defias Brotherhood is the only RP-PVP server in the EU block that actually has a population.

Seriously, why can't Blizzard merge all battlegroups like with the US servers so horde actually have a chance at winning? Ah right I forgot that Blizzard doesn't give a shit about the European playerbase despite it being bigger than the US playerbase.

For me I find it honestly depends. Some nights I'll just roll in the wins in pvp, some nights I'm just getting my ass raped the second I rez at the graveyard to the point where I end up running away from the graveyard so I don't auto rez until the Alliance players have gone somewhere else to kill people. Hit or miss, really. I don't mind losing sometimes as long as it's actually an interesting fight. There's nothing fun about 5 Horde trying to take on 15 Alliance.

I'm on Defias Brotherhood, Horde side which is in the Rampage/Saccage Battlegroup. Basically Horde tend to stomp around on Wintergrasp but run around like headless chickens in BGs while alliance actually use fully coordinated tactics in order to win. The best you see from Horde in Rampage BGs is people yelling "INC [insert capture point here]!" or "DRUID IN FLAG ROOM WTF DEFEND NOOBS!" when Druids use the stupid OP travel form to grab flags.

They you get people flaming other people for not killing the flag runner when Alliance actually defend their flag runner while on Horde side, chances are you're going to be on your own if you get near a flag and then your team treats you like a leper.

I'm interested in playing a Worgen alt, problem is is that alliance dominate on my battlegroup and winning all the time is boring. That and alliance in general are boring to RP as since everything is so generic. You have humans who are all paragons of light except they thing that putting orcs into concentration camps after they surrender is a good idea (between Warcraft II and III) and they also betrayed the high elves and were technically recognisable for Arathas nearly killing them all (Warcraft III), Dwarves that are the same as any other setting, Gnomes that piss everyone off and hippy vegan tree hugging elves and alien thingies that seem to embody all things Mary Sue from how perfect they are supposed to be.

Horde is more interesting for RP because of the wider variety of character types the races support. Blood Elves are most fun to RP with Orcs and Trolls not too far behind though with Goblins coming in in Cata there will be a light hearted RP option which is always fun when you just want to have a laugh while RPing.

That and if you know your Warcraft lore, Alliance are frankly dicks with few real redeeming qualities other than the Night Elves actually being willing to talk to a Horde race. But once you realise that they decided to try and genocide the Orcs because they cut down a few trees to build their new home after they fled the Eastern Kingdoms to make a new home (Warcraft III)... The Night Elves are also responsible for the Worgen being werewolves i nthe first place because they want more druids. Basically they had an entire country cursed to conscript them as druids...

Wintergrasp doesn't extend to entire BGs, it's a server-only kind of thing.

I've done searches to find the best place to roll as Horde, but on all servers I came across Alliance always dominated. It was practically role reversal. Horde meandered about while Alliance hit objectives with purpose. It's still that way, most of the time, with every Horde victory being a stroke of pure luck.

I think it started with twinks. Alliance couldn't work together as well as Horde could, and begun using super-charged characters. One twink could take down two or three Horde. Eventually, it was twinks working together as guilds. Near-invincible healers supporting all-powerful teammates. Next thing you know, they're all working together like that.

WTF are you talking about? My battle group still owns at pvp. 75% of the time we own wintergrasp, and win BGs.

Well the game loader for me can't decide if it's downloaded a patch or not. I swear that it will download until I can play then go back to setup if I have to log for something like y'know food.
