Nitpick - It was originally supposed to be 6 episodes, not disks, long. Hence the reason Xenosaga was also supposed to be 6 episodes long.

I guess the creator just has a knack for pissing the wrong people off, so really, it's never going to get made.

That's not what I heard, though it could be true since Xenogears was episode 4.

What I heard was all those scenes where you see the character sitting in the chair going on about what happened (remember, the game's story happened over the coarse of a few years) were supposed to be entire discs worth of content. But that could be false and we'll never know really because of SE.

SE is being a complete asshole over that license. They refused to give it up (Xenosaga was originally intended to be a back story to Xenogears, meaning the first 3 episodes. Not that it wasn't a great series anyway) so they had to change it. And the thing is, they have no interest whatsoever of making a new game. Maybe they're still angry at the Chrono Trigger team, who knows...




And how would a Twilight Princess-ish LttP be bad? Some of the puzzles would change from the lack of a bird's-eye view but big deal! It'd be a neat opportunity to make fuller use of the Wiimote and breath new life into a classic.



That said, idk if I'd want those Mega Man remakes on Wii or PS3. Uber insane 1080 glory, or super fun controls for aiming the Mega Buster...

Saga was only going to be 3 parts.

6 Parts. Xenosaga was supposed to be a retelling and slight variation of the whole story (hence calling it a Saga).

I'd much rather seen OoT redone in the TP engine. It's already 3D, so you wouldn't have to change the levels significantly.

I don't believe a simple change in graphics will violate the spirit of the game. Actually, I think it could only be done justice with maybe the cell shaded style, a la Windwaker.

As long as they leave the "I bred Link with a Grey Alien" look at home this time.

Cel shaded, ok. More of that dwarfized chibi shit? No thanks.

They're apparently working on a new update to the Strike series. Don't know when it's supposed to be out though.

Well, back when Xenosaga was annoucned (at least on IGN) it was said up front that it would be a trilogy. But that might have been taking into account SE being utter assholes about the license I don't know.


I really don't get what their problem is. They said that they have absolutely no plans to revisit the series again because of low sales so wtf? What is up with this stupid feud between the Chrono Trigger Team and Square?
