But if you were to live in this game, with all these crazy concepts and people, it wouldnt surprise me if they did invent some inhumane sport.

Alot different, because.....

* The small quests and missions would have alot more bearing on your fame and life in the towns. (I mean, if you tell a NPC that you will help him sell hats, and then 3 months later, you have not sold one, you would have some answering to do.)

* You would be able to jump and use the land to your advantage more. (ie, climb trees, hide behind rocks, go swimming)

* Moogle events would be alot more fun and effective. And we would finally be able to see how they keep those fireworks going all night.

* That's all i can think of now. But i know i will think of some more.

Also some side notes. Chocobos don't cost $3.00 a gallon to fill up.

If you consider 1 Gil = 1 Cent (which is rather logical for almost all low level armor and NPC foods; remember the NPCs are the 'every day people' in FFXI, not us, even the poorest adventurer is freaking loaded), a chocobo costs at least around 200G most of the time, for 30 minutes of riding. That's 4$ for an hour of chocoing, which I know I personally get get more out of a tank of gas especially considering how much faster a car goes compared to a choco. Warping would take care of almost all my travel, though.

Nah, you would never die, you just go unconcious, and if you did not get a raise, you would just return to your hp.

And about Chocos vs Cars. Well, it is hard to drive a car, when there is no freeways. At best you have dirt roads, but there is no place to buy gas, so you would be SoL. Chocobo FTW.. plus i have my own choco that is 1st class so .. it is all good.
