Re: Little things that make you smile - the anti-peeve thread.
So Roger Ebert has passed away. Didn't always agree with his opinions, particularly when he tried talking about video games. But I do remember reading some things he would post on his site. Once, in particular, he was talking about how he lost his ability to eat and speak and how he is grateful for the opportunity to use the internet to speak with others. It's something that really stuck with me when I thought about how some of the people I most enjoy "hanging out" with are people I've never even met in person.
"So that's what's sad about not eating. The loss of dining, not the loss of food. It may be personal, but for, unless I'm alone, it doesn't involve dinner if it doesn't involve talking. The food and drink I can do without easily. The jokes, gossip, laughs, arguments and shared memories I miss. Sentences beginning with the words, "Remember that time?" I ran in crowds where anyone was likely to break out in a poetry recitation at any time. Me too. But not me anymore. So yes, it's sad. Maybe that's why I enjoy this blog. You don't realize it, but we're at dinner right now."- Roger Ebert
Every time I spot PiNG on the list, I always get a similar feeling to running into a super rare mob. I SEE IT!!! ITS RIGHT THERE!!! CLAIM IT!!!
But this discovery begs the question: What happened?
He is our loving creator, he watches over us, nurtures us, guides us, though we may not see his actions directly, we know he must be there. Why he cares for us so, we may never know, but he has been with us from the beginning, and contrary to popular opinion, has never truly left us.
Re: Little things that make you smile - the anti-peeve thread.
I wonder if the after life is like that, vagrant wandering spirits, floating a drift if the nexus of another world like our own. Gives me some thought as to why I've been watching as many paranormal movies as I can. I'm running out of rope though. Any suggestions? The last GOOD ones were
-The Devil Within
-The Possession
I don't even bother with the Paranormal Act series. Load of smoke and mirrors that is. I'm going old school and digging out The Exorcist and The Exorcist 2: The Heretic, gonna shoot for The Exorcist 3. However 1 still scares the be-jesus out of me to this day. Pun intended.

If you like stuff like that, check out Event Horizon. it's a very good Sci-Fi/Horror film which fits into the type of film you might be looking for. Warhammer 40k fans also consider it a "Spiritual Prequel" of the 40k verse too given that the film seems to touch on the same themes and could quite easily fit into that setting. If I remember correctly, the Satanic Woodland Critter episode of South Park is also based on it.
