Uhhh, oh here we go. Anti-peeve: Two weeks ago on date night my wife and I finished the first season of Sherlock on Netflix. (They're only 3 episodes. ;_ It left off on a ridiculous cliffhanger. So last week we go out to eat instead because I had an appointment across town anyway, but this week we sit down in front of Netflix again and season 2 has been added just in time, and the s02e01 has been the best one yet.

Yep, I like single player FPS games quite a bit. Thanks for the recommendation, I look for it on Steam.

This is because her husband posted it there... It was relegated to her inbox until her husband put it on facebook. They chose to make it public, not him.

And another thing that made me smile today.

Just found out about this series:
          日本人の知らない日本語

          Click for the first episode

Nice and fun drama so far and you get to learn some new things in Japanese.

PS > Gaijin Warning: Watch the entire thing before jumping to conclusions. Going by some of the comments in the video people seems to get offended by the intro for some stupid reason.

I think I just had my coffee spiked.
A black japanese guy? I've seen everything now.
            What is it?

It's about a Japanese teacher in Japan. She thinks she will be teaching Japanese people Japanese but it turns out it's a class for foreigners, it also turns out she doesn't know as much about the Japanese language as she thought.

It has a lot of info about Japanese and other things, plus it's one of those feel good dramas about a teacher and her students' wacky adventures. XD

Strangely enough I liked the couple of minutes I watched. I couldnt understand a word people said. I did find it cool that I had a rough idea what was going on just by watching it. At least I know if I go deaf I'll still enjoy tv.

I'd have loved to have learnt japanese at school, There was one local school that taught it but it was so elite and the rich kids went there so it was a no go for me. I studied german and have never had to use it even when I've been to germany lol. The exception being last year on holiday in Tunisia I met a German man and his wife in the hotel lobby looking at the hotel parrot. They sat with me during the England game cheering england on lol. I didnt too bad considering it's been almost 15 years since learning it.
I managed to talk about the game, Rooney's hair transplant and ask the man and his wife if I could buy them a drink.
His wife said I'm funny when I speak German, but they understood me.
Allthough I did call the parrot a flying pet

A similar thing happened when I was in Majorca Satori. At was one of those last minute deals so we ended up at a German resort (with me being the only person in the family that speaks German). Thankfully the family we spoke to all actually spoke perfect English and we spent pretty much the entire week hanging out with each other with the Germans apparently finding my accent hilarious because I speak German with a North Welsh accent thanks to by German teacher being from Denbighshire.

Apparently when drunk I sounded Danish so just to annoy them I started cheering on Denmark when they were playing Germany (Note: this is actually a very fast way to get yourself killed in a pub in Germany if the people there don't have a sense of humour and I only did it because everyone there was really, really friendly and got the joke that I apparently sound like a drunk Dane when speaking in German after about 8 beers).

Also What's wrong with that intro?

Let us look at just the facts:

Teenager mouths off to someone on the bus who tells them off for listening to loud music then is late for class.

The teenage then decides to sprint the rest of the way, scaring the woman that had just told him off who thought that he was chasing her (when really he was just trying to get to the class that she happened to be teaching).

I fail to see what is wrong with that...

I was more amused by the fact he was pulling the T-1000 run to class, otherwise I thought I was watching the Japanese version of Yo Soy Betty/Ugly Betty.

The girl is bitching at him for sitting in the priority seat (the seats set aside for elderly, pregnant, disabled, and otherwise handicapped passengers). That's what the sticker behind him is.

So the Japanese have not heard of getting up and moving out of a priority seat if someone that needs it comes along? Pretty much all of those signs some with some sort of "Please give up these seats for the elderly/disabled/pregnant etc if they are needed".

                            Oh I didn't know that.

I'll probably get the books (they are surprisingly cheap) and keep reading as much as possible. But still, sometimes I can get overwhelmed when reading kanji heavy texts.

                            Heck I didn't even know about the old kana still being used for signs and things like that. <_<;

No, the guy is from the US. And he is being rude about it by taking over the seat, but it is explained later why he is so tired he didn't care about it. Anyway, people got offended because it portrayed the foreign guy as being rude, and complained about stereotyping and racism and all that crap. But really, the situation would've been exactly the same if it was Japanese guy or someone else who would do something like it. It really wasn't a big deal at all, it was just for the sake of the story rather than some anti-foreigner statement.
