Um didn't you know? Male character does it - applauded for it. Female character does it - BURN HER.

Obviously this isn't true in every single case but man there are a lot of instances where that's actually true.

It seems split more along the lines of "does this character fuck over humanity or not".

I think you have to consider the context.

God of War is a game for idiots. They can applaud what they like, we don't care.

The other two I know nothing off, but it may be that the writing was better or worse in certain cases, and these summaries fail to capture some of the finer details of the plots.

Oh I was being mostly sarcastic, but I'm sure someone somewhere would make the argument I did in complete seriousness.

Although I am sure that in some circles it actually happens.
