I hope they do it. The media isn't really talking about it - as not reporting on it benefits them - and if all these sites shut down for a day, they'll have no choice but to take notice as it will affect everybody who lives on the internet.

I'm REALLY amazed Facebook & Twitter aren't joining in on this as well. You really need those 2 as well to complete the black out.

It's not enough to cut off things like youtube, but once the social media goes down too.. or maybe they want it up so people can voice their opinions, who knows.

Could be, but what if instead of just voicing their opinions they took that time to call their representatives and pressure them instead?

A place holder page with all the resources needed would be better than just bickering in this case. And it's only for a day.

Either this is a test to see if the blackout is for realsies or congress is looking to milk more money out of this. Either way, those who arranged to blackout should stick with it as the Senate is still moving forward with PIPA and there's plenty on both sides that want to pass it.

I post once a day about SOPA and PIPA on Facebook right now.
Family and most friends disregard, thinking i'm just bent out of shape because of some video game thing.

Now they're wondering where their favorite websites went today.

Lamar Smith is fucking oblivious on this bill. SOPA was postponed, its back on for February and he's going to try to ram it through in February.

I've noticed switchboards don't work and rep sites don't work so good when lots of people are mad at congress and the senate.

Usually means;

- Lots of people accessing
- They're paid off and don't care
- Not informed on the issue and not willing to face the music on their support.
