Re: Anyone get an iPad?
I never did it with actual books because that's disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourself.
The proper way to turn pages for civilized persons:
1- Place thumb and a finger of your choice (index or middle work best) on the right page.
2- Lightly press against the page, while pinching fingers together
3- Once page has lifted from the pinch, gently sweep to the left
4- Repeat until book is finished.
Caution: If you do this with a book printed right to left, you'll go backwards! Be sure to reverse directions when reading a book that isn't printed left to right.
Plebians.

Re: Anyone get an iPad?
Speaking of licking your fingers to turn book pages, if I'm really engrossed in a book on my iPad, I will lick my finger to turn the pages. I never did that with my eBook reader but it's so much like reading an actual book on my iPad that I often do it.

Re: Anyone get an iPad?
I don't know about the iPad specifically, but the iPhone's screen works like the touchpad on a laptop-- that is, uses the conductivity in your fingers. The problem might be more dryness than coldness. You could try seeing if licking your fingers lightly helps. Just like the way disgusting teachers used to turn pages in books.

Re: Anyone get an iPad?
Ok totally forgot to post...so sorry.Originally posted by Solymir View PostI was wondering if anyone with an iPad would check out this App and tell us what the quality is like.
I did d/l it and I like it. Chatting while watching the videos is fun. The quality of the videos varies but at best they aren't even DVD quality. I think this may be because its an iPhone app and not formatted for the iPad. I don't think I could watch a movie using this app but it's perfectly fine for what I do use it for. I really enjoy the tech programs and got several friends to watch a particular one with me so we can chat it up.
FYI, the Netflix app rocks!
I have found one major drawback...but it's my fault! I have extremely low iron (Ferritin is 7....should be around a 100 lol) so my hands get extremely cold. The touch screen does NOT like my cold fingers! So sometimes it's a bit irritating when it's not registering.
