  • ... IE7 issue...

I cant open a new tab in IE7. Everytime I try IE7 just crashes. Don't tell me to use Fire Fox either. I have been having issues with that as well. with Fire Fox, I cant load certain webpages, and its a littls sluggish on my PC for some reason.

I just want to know if there is a way I can fix the issue I am having with IE7. Thank you.

Use Firefox, Safari, Opera et al.
      Download spybot, malwarebytes or whatnot.
      scan and fix issues.
      Upgrade to IE8
Reformat you machine if IE8 upgrade fails or just fails to solve the issue.

It really is a good idea to have 2 different web browsers to assist in solving issues. Most issues will only affect one (IE usually) allowing you to use the alternative to solve problems that crop up with your primary. Just throwing that out there because I can't really tell from your post if you currently have firefox installed.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

Google Chrome is your new best friend.

I've never bothered to use IE for anything other than downloading a better browser so I don't know what you did to it.

If you're referring to wiki and IE7, it's been utter crap lately.

Use Opera for wiki or other related sites

IE7/IE8 both are the same as far as wiki is concerned.

Wiki has too many background processes/pop-ups/advertisements lately, it really messes with an unstable browser (Internet Explorer)

Use Opera, fast, efficient, simpler than Firefox.

                        Re: ... IE7 issue...

I can't see how this would be a hardware issue. So all I can think of is to download an antivirus / anti-spyware apps. Run a scan and get rid of anything malicious. If this doesn't work. Reinstall/upgrade to IE8. If this doesn't work, reformat your computer.

On a sidenote, I don't know why people use IE at all. Firefox offers a lot more and it's much safer to browse with firefox than IE. I kinda find it strange though that your computer's crashing when using firefox. w/e the case, it has to be some kind of software issue.

I would assume the problem is user ignorance. Browsers don't become unstable on their own - you've got something installed that IE doesn't like.

Not that I use IE anyway, but I do open it on occasion to check sites when other browsers are acting oddly, and it never misbehaves for me. Then again, I don't use a hundred browser plug-ins like most people do either.

I've been cleaning up my computer lately, and deleted all the browser history/cookies, and ran my virus scanner/spyware and deleted it all. I even ran a defragmentation not too long ago as well. I can't really find anything thats wrong with it.

A plugin doesn't have to be malware or a virus to be poorly coded and unstable.
