    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I d/l that in ONE DAY EVERY DAY!

Do you have dogs mom? And parks outside?

If so, do your dogs run wildly in the park often in groups chasing each other, drooling of joy and having fun sniffing other dogs?

Do you then engage in weather and pet conversations with other dog owner in the park?

Sometimes you even find someone you already know and take that chance to ask about the new house and how they're enjoying the new neighborhood, have they settled down yet? hey, do they ever need help with unpacking too? maybe take a chance to have dinner at their new house and check it out, it might be fun times, and don't forget Fluffy! I'm sure she and Bert would have fun prancing about in the backyard all happy and without a care in the world... I love dogs, don't you?

By the way is your friend doing something next Friday? It would be your pleasure to show them around and maybe have some Ice Cream since there's a new place down the street which is supposed to be really great, that'd be fun too, you could catch up on old times and how you had so much fun back then and how you wish those days were back.

Well, you left your computer downloading your torrents at home while you were out so this is moot.

Back in the day, I use to download a lot of anime but that was only about 4Gb a week including normal surfing/streaming.

I do remember it spiked up to 5 Gb a day for about 7 days because I started watching the anime "Monster" and couldnt wait until the next download finished.
I have 3 people playing FFXI, my son and I d/l tv shows/anime every day, and add on that the surfing we do with streaming video and such. My husband is a CNN/MSNBC/anyfuckingnewssitethereis addict that has streaming video to watch.

Honestly people, you don't realize how much bandwidth you are using. Every avatar/signature/ad/graphic/etc that you see is eating up your precious bandwidth. This is honestly a HUGE issue that is going to affect more than "heavy bandwidth users", its going to affect everyone. You are going to pay more and get less, bottom line.

Guys, the problem isn't that limiting downloads or charging for them is unreasonable, it's that they're jacking up prices as they ALREADY EXIST.

It's not a matter of supply and demand, it's a matter of exploiting their heaviest use customers. They're abusing their monopoly to pick the price that's best for them.

Nobody has a problem with an internet contract that says "You get X amount per month."; but most of us didn't agree to one of those, and they certainly didn't advertise it that way. Most of us agreed to "You get Xmbps max". In fact, at one point, Comcast was limiting monthly downloads while advertising 'Unlimited internet', and not informing their users of what the caps were. If I look at my ISP's info page right now, not only does their advertising material not mention a bandwidth cap, their fine print doesn't. Changing it so my internet is cutoff after some arbitrary amount is possible, sure, but it's an abuse of their contract's provisions.

And 250GB a month isn't really that much. "8GB a day!" you say. Two users, using nothing extreme or illegal, can easily go over that. Hell, my house probably does. One person works from home; video conferencing, remote computer use, transferring documents around. That's easily a few gigabytes a day. Then you also have two people using streaming media such as Hulu, VOIP, downloading free (as in, Creative Commons) videos and music, listening to internet radio, downloading games and software (both free, as well as paid things like Wii Shop/PSN/XBL. Hell, FFXI's download is probably around 8GB by itself.). Then you have people with more than two people living at home, and it just grows and grows. There's also things like online backup services; that's more bandwidth. You have a computer hobbyist; that's a ton of bandwidth potentially going to things like downloading the latest version (or source) of an app, or even a daily build iso. I believe the Windows 7 iso download alone was around 2-3 GB, though I deleted it awhile ago.

Unless someone puts out an epic, huge, can't live without Morrowind Mod, I very seldom download anything anymore. Sometimes I'll get a bit of a story we're working on from Matt, or a song he's wrote for his band, or something, that's about it. I don't even really look at Youtube that often, anymore either.

Now, if it put a serious crimp in my LotRO playing, I would have a fucking fit. But so far as I know my ISP has no caps -at least none I've ever hit or heard of, and has no plans on implementing any. And if they do, and it's high enough to not hamper my gaming or what little I do take, then I don't think I'd really care.

Aww man that HBO special was a classic. I challenge anyone to sit through it with a straight face >.> Robin Williams.

    Do you comcast ppl have to deal with the bullshit we get up here? I only have 2 ISPs to choose from, Rogers or Bell Canada and neither is ever appealing for long;

One of them will have the better (i.e. unlimited access) deal for a time and then drop it to start charging absolutely insane (almost extortionist) fees for exceeding your often low bandwidth limit.

    Re: Poor Comcast Users...

While it sounds like the average user will be ok, think again:

"...the overage fee is only $1/GB and is waived the first two months. Plans start $30 for 768Kbps downloads and a 5GB cap, and go up to $55 for a pretty sweet 15Mbps downstream and a 40GB cap."

Now for a month, write down in a little notebook every time you d/l something and how big the file is. If that doesn't scare you, then add on top of that every time you stream a video from YouTube or GameTrailers.com that also adds on to your bandwidth. Have fun surfing and d/l'ing cause in a week you'll cap that limit easily. $55 for a week of internet......sounds fun! And they aren't only looking at charging you per byte now they are also going to be filtering what you d/l. I know you've heard of packet filtering. There has been a huge uproar over this and they seem to be backing off and going more with the pay per byte option. They think this will throttle anyone that uses torrents for d/ling copyrighted materials. It doesn't mean they still won't continue to explore some way to filter what you are d/l'ing too somewhere down the line. Once they get their foot in the door by throttling you, they'll push the envelope even more.

These crazy Americans will complain about anything.

Why in my day we had to use ropes instead of tubes.

Anyway, my service was 10GB / month until recently.

Robin Williams: Live on Broadway. The first time I saw that, I couldn't stop laughing.

When he was talking about Michael Jackson, and he's like "Right now, HBO's Lawyers are going 'FUCK!!!!'" I lost it. I was crying because I was laughing so hard.

Sounds like an offshoot of the Robin Williams' branded Fukitol.

I hate ISPs in general, always trying to find a way to screw people.

But you can thank Youtube and Myspace for that though, since they're slowly killing the internet by taking up all available bandwidth.

Also, I my new siggy. Failblog ftw
