Re: Something people probably don't know about you.

I have one tatoo(BTW I'm 13) of a rottweiler on my back. It's kinda near the top middle of my back, near my neck, so it goes across my shoulder blades.

It's not about me.... but my mom got a tattoo about a year ago. Totally out of the blue, didn't even tell me about it until a few days later.

Got a tigger tattoo, she loves that character for some reason.

Tats, how'd you get a tattoo that young? Most tattoo places i've seen don't offer them to people under 18... you DO realize that as your skin streches the tattoo will become fairly distorted, right?

I have a step-son at 3 years, and his favourite Whinnie the Pooh character is Tigger.

I got a surprise about two months ago, when I actually went to Internationals(of tae kwon do) and I was Rank 9 out of the whole -civilized- world. But what surprised me was how I got beat. The dude leaned forward pushing my hook kick with with his forearm, then spun and kick me in the ribs. He ending up cracking my two left floating ribs, but I only broke his nose and cracked his sternum, which is a soft bone anyway. But see... I started coughing blood. So I HAD to forfeit. It was a pretty eventful fight.

I've always been partial to eeyore myself. The others never spoke to me.

You're thirteen, and you're fighting who, at which competition? I rarely see blood or broken bones in the adult blackbelt division.

A guy from Korea by the name of Kim Gung Suk. He was REALLY good, and fast too. The fights were held in Seoul, South Korea. I couldn't talk to him that well, becuase I don't know Korean. He seemed angry at me. Before and after the fight.

Edit: Do you only watch the tournaments in your own city? Is it point fighting? We don't do that. First one down loses.

I never know whether or not people mean Tae Kwon Do, or just Sport Karate. I consider myself a sport martial artist so I'm into point fighting and such. TKD provides an excellent base for point fighting. How exactly does one lose being 'down'? On the ground, or knocked out?

I've been to locals, but they're really starting to slow down to the point where there's only one or two other people to fight in your division, and a few more for the grands. I have a hard time keeping track of the big name fighters in the national circuits, so I doubt I'll remember anything international.

Do you live in Korea, or just travelling? It seems like a great place to break a few bones, but it sucks that he seemed angry. People are pretty friendly around here, we know it's nothing personal.

I think he didn't like me because I was american. *shrugs* No, I just travel for tournaments and such. Have you been to nationals? I've only been once this past summer. I didn't compete, but there were some helluva good fights, no broken bones either. Oh and, they count from 1-10 then you're out. And I know some Korean, like the numbers, san-ju-kong-bong names, kick and punch names, stances, and stuff similar to that.

Edit: So if they're on the ground they start counting. But I was very bad. I dunno, usually if you get a rib broken it doesn't make you just -cough- blood like that. Maybe I was just really worn out.

I used to fight in "Underground" Fights. I fight Mixed Muay Thai. My Master had traveled the world learning Martial Arts and made his own. He only trained a few people. But I got to do a couple of Caged Rope fights in Thailand while I was there with the Navy, that was fun. You want to talk about blood and pain, they don't play fair their it's all about winning and being the best for them.

I have my 3rd sash in Muay Thai. Yes, it's very different from Tae Kwon Do. Muay Thai is like X-treme kickboxing. Tae Kwon Do leans more towards kicking. I have a lot more injuries from Muay Thai than, Tae Kwon Do. I have a friend who's been doing it longer than me and his nose is super crooked. That's why I quit for a while. Cuz if I'm ugly I might lose my gf Gaby. XD
