if I ever wore contacts, they would be to change my eye color. Totally not worth the discomfort for vision correction imo, especially considering glasses are hawt anyway.

Hell, I kinda wish I did need glasses...

Ive thought about getting contacts cause i think i just look better without frames, but i cant stand putting stuff in my eyes(especially eye drops and such). I always hear people complain about how much their solution for thier contacts hurts and such and that discourages me from them.

Edit: What Feba said before i could beat me to it. Very much discomfort and its not worth it when i could just use glasses. However it would be cool to use to change eye color.

My contacts make the my irises red. BTW, my contacts don't hurt. Except for one time I forgot to use eyedrops first. And I need contacts to do Tae Kwon Do.

They didnt even hurt the first time you used them? Or was it just something that youve grown used to and they dont hurt anymore but still at one time did?)

            Necro-post

I got drunk with my best friend and went cow-tipping, but there was a stud bull in the field with the cows. We didn't realize this until the line of cows stopped falling and we had to start running for our lives. LOL. Next morning didn't remember a thing, it wasn't until about a week later that memories started flashing back.

              Wow, Spiritbear... o.O

My very first date... my parents would only let my sister and I double-date, so when she wanted to go out with this one boy on Friday night, I had to be there with his friend. Well, they were... country boys, lol! and we ended up driving around the Sonic drive in til they got bored and then heading out to some random old field for some mud-bogging in the pickup truck.

I've always hated that little town lol.. *shudder*

I can't remember my first date. I can however, remember my first girlfriend. God she was such a goddess beauty wise, she still today is very beautiful, lol, but man she was crazy, I'm talking full blown crazy.

Well this last month has been hard.

4 weeks ago I drove our fire engine for the last time, as the fire authority has decided that 2 fire engines at our station is a waste of money and that one fulltime crew is all thats needed to protect 47,000 people that our station area covers. Therefore us retained firefighters have been made redundant and the fire engine pulled from the station. Its an end of the era for the station (in 1964 there was 3 fire engines and turntable aldder and an emergency tender) today after this there is just one fire engine. It is apparently called modernisation, but what i call it can't be published here.

People may say look on the bright side, you get your evenings back, more sleep, more time to spend with your GF (not really as she works nights in control 3 days a week, though she gets made redundant in 2009 when the new regional control centre opens)

I will continue working my day job as an architect, but I had always wanted to be a firefighter and was so overjoyed o get in and serve my community. It is unfortunate and extreemly depressing to be made redundant after 8 years of service in a job I loved. I am very bitter to the local authority for their "cost cutting exercise" and I know it will put lives at risk but its the same old thing, until a number of people dies as a direct result of these actions they wont flinch. (theres my rant out of the way)

So yeah what ou didn't know about me was I was made redundat 4 weeks ago from a job I loved. I havn't played much of any game really as the lads and I have been socialising to try and get over the shock announcement (we knew something was going on but we were expecting an anouncement in 3 years time!

Have you considered going into a related field, such as general fire safety? Home inspector? Though it might be more of a preventative job than a saving people job, in the long run, you could potentially help more people.

You could also think about becoming an EMT, since alot of their duties overlap with firefighters.

In the Uk EMT is very different know here as Paramedics, at the moment the ambulance service is very dodgy with crews being worked to the bone to try and cope with the amoutn of calls that are too many for the amount, and no funds availiable to help them by investing in more parameics and vehicles. I am a still an architect and was a retained firefighter, i.e. on call 24/7 via a pager, similar to your volunteers in the US being tipped out from home and work. I will still do ym day job of an architect so the other jobs you mentioned wouldn't be suitable as I would have to give up that job as well to do them.

One of my friends was Homosexual the entire time I knew him (6 years or so) one day he woke up, called me and told me he wasn't anymore. All I could do is scratch my head in confusion.
