      I guess if they do extremely well they do. I remember they Re-released The Dark Knight in the IMAX back in Jan 2009.

      The Dark Knight (2008) - Daily Box Office Results - Box Office Mojo I think it was re-released on January 23 2009 which would explain the spike in amount earned.

        We get a lot of re-releases here but of older movies usually. I remember going to some when I was a teenager.

          Apparently theirs an extra 8 minutes i.e. a few extended scenes in the re-release but I ain't spending £10 to see the film again just to catch 8 minutes extra.... The cinemas are expensive here >.<

            They re-released star wars 4,5,6 in the mid 90's with all new deleted scenes. was the first time I recall a movie re-release. But its been done several times now.

                    Forgot all about that, I have a Yoda toy from Taco Bell (I think) from when they re-released them. I think it was digitally remastered as well as added scenes.

                      Those were the Special Editions. You know, the one that DOESN'T have Han shoot first. Lucas all but refuses to admit the others ever existed.
