There are adapters to connect a real PS2 controller to your PC via a USB adapter. I don't know how well it works, but I'd imagine its as good as the PC controllers. Most PC controllers look just like the PS2 one anyway. Any computer store would have them. Places like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.. would have them also. I use the Saitek P3000 wireless controller and it works really nice in FFXI. If you wanna buy one online, just go to Gravis, Logitech, or Saitek's website and they'll say where they sell their stuff.

Me and my roommate bought a usb adaptor for our PS2 controller and after setting it up it worked great.

We got use to playing with the ps2 controller during beta and after found it freakin annoying to have to use the keyboard (the mouse is useless)

EDIT: you can find the adaptors almost anywhere. We got ours at radio shack for like 10 bucks
