PS2 Sorround Sound System

The only reason I wanted to upgrade was to play FFXI.
No other reason. My computer is fine with my other games and tasks.

I'll just buy PS2 stuff, cause Consoles Were Meant For Games!

In fact, I want to know if this board can set up a Ps2 discussion.

all i said was that you can still play ffxi with full compatibility, it might not look too good, but you can play. the ps2 enhancements will cost more than the small video card upgrade you do need if you play pc. i also said that later on, when you do decide to get a new comp, you should have it homebuilt to save money.

This is true. I am not 100% sure if the use of AA and AF were hard locked out. But the higher resolutions will make the tv version (low res) look horrid :dead:

120$ (2) 256 Ram Modules (Comp jacked up the price)
over 100$ A new Pentium 3 processor (which probably won't even work on the computer!)
(Oh and don't forget about the motherboard!!!)

And all this, with the risk of not even being able to play FFXI smoothly.

In conclusion, my computer was not meant to play games.

Oh and I checked the info. I know what I'm doing.

For this game, I wanna pop in the disk and play; Not wait for the darn computer to load and so on.

Now I can relate to those PS2 FFXI fans;
It's cheaper, easier, and better.

A Radeon 9200Se can not stand too well.
Even in one of aerbahn's post in another topic he said:

the ps2 refresh is locked to what the tv can handle. tv in ntsc (us and japan mainly) can support 29.97 frames a second and pal (europe, south america, basically the world) can support 25 frames. the ntsc tvs have 720 by about 460 resolution, while pal is about 20% less. that means a lot worse graphics right there by the capability of your tv.

i will use 1024x768x32 res for ffxi on my comp. i will have a much better looking game than you. my friend with a 800mh celeron and 256 ram (gf3 ti 200 i think, the 9200se kills that), will have a better looking game too.

edit:
pc 100/133 ram(that is what you have) is at about $50 for two 128mb sticks (what you should get, but don't have to). you don't need to upgrade the cpu at all, and you will have the game look the same, if not better than the ps2 version. if you get 29 fps in normal game, imagine in the city. with pc you can adjust the display settings much more than ps2, so you can have better percormance than ps2 and still keep an 800x600 res, which is much better than ps2's max of 720x480.

aerobahn said that the 9200se is bad because it is pci. all pci cards have a connection at 33mh, while agp 2x is 66 (66.66), 4x is 133, and 8x is supposed to be 266mh. i may be wrong and you will have to multiply the answers by 2. that is a big difference compaired to pci. the 5200 for pci is much better, but also more expensive. stop repeating your mistakes, i did that against aerobahn til i realized that he was right in many areas.
