Hey all, did you know that Square did the CG work for The Animatrix; Final Flight of the Osiris? That must be why it looks so good. :D And does anyone know when the DVD of all the Animatrix shorts is coming out and what it is going to be called? I would really like to get it because the shorts are so good and are made by legendary Anime creators.

Thanks all, oh yeah and go see The Matrix:Reloaded, it is very good and practically like live action anime.

June third, okay I'll keep an eye out for it. Thanks! ^-^
My personal favorite was "Program" only because I am easily amused by fight scenes.

                    Hey now, Program wasn't that bad. ;_;
It didn't have a lot of depth to it, but it still had great voice acting, animation, and sound effects.

Haha any woman that can grab and stop a blade that's flying towards her head, I have a lot of respect for.

Actually, I thought World Record was pretty good...
Matriculated was just wierd (but what else is to be expected of Peter Chung  )...
Program was kinda straightforward, but cool nonetheless...

On the subject of Matriculated, it was interesting to see how they could 'convert' machines by letting them experience helplessness, salvation, and compassion...

I guess. I've never been a fan of Peter Chung, so that might just be a personal preference. For some reason his character designs just piss me off.

I dunno, I just find Program to be too cliched. Sure the animation is top-notch, but the characters are so flat and unoriginal, they might as well just have used Ninja Scroll characters. The fighting was kinda pointless, and I thought the ending was completely dull and immature.

Being a series of 9 completely different shorts by many different directors, I think we'll all have different perspectives on each and every one. I didn't like Osiris, but I loved Detective Story. I'm sure there are plenty of people who feel the exact opposite.

I thought "Program" was actually one of the best ones. Let's not forget, one thing that makes the Matrix movies so cool are the many fight scenes. So I don't mind having one of the nine shorts a really cool fight scene. And I loved how they would freeze the screen and rotate the angle like they did in the Matrix movies. Really cool!

Well, I thought they were all great except for Matriculated (what a surprise) but I still thought that one was ok.

My top favorite was "The Second Renaissance I & II" I really think that added the most to the overall Matrix storyline. Maybe I missed some things in the two movies, but I feel I understand the whole Matrix universe better after watching that one.

On that note, was anyone else slightly..disturbed by Second Renaissance? Its actually scary to think about, something like that could actually happen in some form..

That's what made it freakin' great XD

Even so, it did kinda send a chill up my spine, in a "woah...freaky.." kinda way...

Program wasnt very deep, but it was fun to watch..

If detective story went on more I woulda liked it better...

Overall, great stuff. Its nice to see a lot of different perspectives ^_^

LOL...it's just like being on IMDb

I've been d/l'ing the episodes as they become avail on the web site. I got the gift set w/ the soundtrack because that is just cool.

I pretty much loved 'em all.

Final Flight: WOW....they've come a long way since the FF movie...That fight just rocks and the way it sets up the game and the movie is really cool

The Second Renaissance 1 and 2: I loved these. Filled in the back story nicely but were kinda creepy in that it could happen way like mentioned above.

Program: Was a pretty fight scene, but that was about it. But it was a very good fight.

Detective Story: I really enjoyed this, and I'm a huge fan of Cowboy Bebop, go figure... Also, Carrie-Anne Moss doing the voice was really cool.

Beyond: All I could think about when I was watching this is that I wanted a place like that to play

Matriculated: WOW...impressive animation to say the least. I'm really a Peter Chung fan though, I love Aeon Flux and Reign. And the plot behind this one was, while not very dialogue driven, very good. So much to think about from a mostly dialogue free piece.

World Record: This one was kinda, eh but still good. I really didn't like the way the runners friend moved his hands though.

Kid's Story: That kid was a lot less annoying in this one than he is in Reloaded, that's for sure. The animation style here was really cool, it was like watching a moving sketch book.

One kinda depressing thing though, all of 'em end on a down note, well, except Kid's Story and Program although both were still pretty sad at the end. That's why I like the above order for viewing, you finish with one of the pieces that doesn't end on a really down note.

Oh, and the soundtrack is beautiful.
