Spirited Away on DVD

I've heard a lot about Spirited Away and I just saw a commercial that said it was coming out on DVD soon. Should I bother trying to rent it first or is it one of those timeless classics (like GW: Endless Waltz ) that you just have to buy?

Spirited Away is a good movie =) I am still surprised it won the academy award for best animated feature. The movie IS good, im just surprised it got as much recognition as it did when it's alot like other animes in some respects. My meaning is, if the academy and all the reviewers that thought it was so great, they should a hell of alot more anime too.

This may sound odd as I'm a guy but I really liked Kiki's Delivery Service. Not really for the story but for the drawing. The town Kiki moved to made me want to live there. It was so well drawn it looked like right out of a Fantasy game.

don't worry Tuno, i've found that many great anime, especially Miyazaki's works, are completely un...boundaried...? when it comes to age and gender. I mean, Spirited Away is a film directed at 7 year-old Japanese girls, and hey, it got enough approval from old German dudes at the Berlin Film Festival to score first place.

Hey I like Kiki's delivery service because of everything. My first ever anime was My Neighbor Totoro, then Kiki, then Mononoke....weird eh? I finally found out they were drawn by the same guy! anyway where can one find this 3 pack of movies you speak of??

i can't find it as well.... does bestbuy offer it in store only?? i checked their site and there's nothing about it, only some deal on 3 dvds for 20 bucks but all 3 u mentioned isn't on that (very short) list.

and Sprited Away is the greatest!!!! I LOVE IT (i just saw it last night) the extras in dvd are good as well. it's nice to see how it all came up!


EDIT: btw, anyone know what's the Japanese title for "Spirited Away" is??? and what does it litterally mean??? i'm sure it means something other than "Spirited Away", right??? just curious:confused: :confused: :confused:

the japanese title is "sen to chihiro no kamikakushi" it literally means the spiriting away of sen and chihiro
