i said "partially" toonami's fault, not entirely; but i dont think CN ever does anything good for its anime... seriously. Besides, CN has been showing DBZ ever since Pioneer had DBZ, way before FUNimation came along.

DBZ has sucked since they beat Friza.

I haven't really read many of the replies before this one, but I'm inclined to give my opinion on the status of DBZ.

As previously stated, DBZ served as a "Gateway" anime for several people, myself included. It's the anime that seriously got me into anime. Although it got me into anime, there were a few negative aspects; you see, DBZ just so happens to fill the stereotypical anime space. This caused me to believe that animes were all about violence, fighting, and the specticles that accompanied them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those people who're biased against it and believe that it's all about fighting and death. DBZ is a very great series....about the Saiyan and Freiza sagas. There's a great deal of character development and emotions behind all the fighting. Afterwards, it began to be a bit overexaggerated (I mean really, they became WAY too powerful) and repetitive. However, characters like Vegita, Fat Buu, and Mr. Satan build up on their characters.

The thing that really turned me off about the later half of the DBZ series is their overexaggerated powers and how it failed to live up to the standards to the previous sagas.

And about CN/Toonami....let's not get started on that.

DBZ is definitly the greatest manga series ever .... I had read the whole series before the show came out and when it did I so disapointed ..... FUNamation made it too childish and it really didnt have the same feeling and energy that Akira Toriyama put into the mangas . So to all you people who have only seen the show and are talking shit about DBZ , u truly know shit about DBZ .... well, at least there's SandLand to enjoy now ...

I don't think it's old, I've always loved watching it.....well....when it comes to the eps when Gohan is still young way back when I find it boring though I didn't see all those eps but overall I dont feel that it's really that old, it has been around but it's one of the best animes so it's allmost like it's immortal XDD

It was my favorite anime but I don't watch it much anymore. The main reason is because gohan turned into a book worm and stopped fighting(also because of this stupid saiyaman junk). The other reason is because vegeta is going soft including some other fighters. Goku is like the only that still fights anymore.

                            Dbz lost its spark eh?
i dont think it has. DBZ is just a starting point for people who watch animes i know tons of people who watched DBZ then moved on and now dont like it.
also to the guy who called America hicktown or something(referring to how bad American DBZ is) that is sooo wrong its more of a censorship thing then hickness, or maybe since cartoons im America are like bugs bunny(not that hes bad lets face it hes funny as hell) so once a serious cartoon comes along they think that it should be way censored and thus animes are made into cartoons.

Age has nothing to do with manga I look at old maga and think it is cool.

DBZ was cool at the start, but I am no fan of the concept of DBZ. It is nice to watch if you have nothing else to do :p
