Ok. Last night and today I watched both Akira and Princess Mononoke. I liked Princess Mononoke a little better but Akira did have the whole psychic thing going on. Anyways I really liked both of them and am looking for more Anime to watch. Any recommendations are appreciated.

well, right next to Akira and Princess Mononoke on my shelf here I've got Ghost in the Shell, Spriggan, and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, so that seems like 3 decent movies to recommend, all 3 are visually stunning, just like the two movies you saw already
Ghost in the Shell is about a female android police officer who comes across a case dealing with a criminal known as the Puppet Master, who has the ability to "hack" into a person's brain, it twists some of the lines of differentiation between a robot and a human, along with the differences among the soul, the mind, and the consciousness, but its most famous for having a lot of really good action scenes
Spriggan has the psychic angle similar to Akira, its just a plain old Action/Science Fiction movie with an overall sub-par plot but really great visuals and sound, its a really good cinematic experience and shouldn't dissapoint an action movie fan
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is of course about Vampires and the world that they live in, most importantly the main character is half vampire and half human, a daywalker of sorts, who hunts evil vampires for justice, the safety of his friends, and revenge, its a good dark movie with a lot of style and action
that should get you started, any of those should be easy to find for purchase or rent as they're relatively popularLakshmi - Tetto - Mithra Female - RDM73 - MNK49 - BLM38 - WAR35 - BST42 - Rng 32 - THF29 - PLD27 - WHM25 - NIN19 - SAM19 - San d'Oria - Rank 10

Akira and Mononoke Hime, eh? Wise man. I suggest you buy the Akira manga even if you're not into manga. It's about 1000 time better than the movie which, if it went by the manga, should have been a series or at least a long OVA. I think Mononoke Hime may be the best anime I've ever seen, even though it's not my favorite. Two good choices.
Spriggan is also pretty good. It was either produced or directed by the same guy who made Akira, Katsuhiro Otomo (*praises*). It has some psychic stuff in it, but only near the end. Ghost in the Shell was alright to me and I forget what Katsuhiro Otomo did in that...if he did anything. Spirited Away is pretty good. Strange, but good. If you liked Mononoke Hime, you'd like Spirited Away, too. As for my addition, I'd say Now and Then, Here and There. This may be the second best anime I've ever seen. 13 episode series; 3 DVDs. Get it now if you want to continue living."For a long time it gave me nightmares... witnessing an injustice like that... it's a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be... I can still hear them taunting him... silly rabbit, tricks are for kids... I mean, WHY COULDN'T THEY JUST GIVE HIM SOME CEREAL!?!" - Carlton Banks

I watched both, as well. I have got Mononoke on DVD and this is really a great movie. I love the story, it's characters, the mystic atmosphere and the moral message behind it.
Akira was interesting so far, but I got mad at the end. I was on TV and I videotaped it, but 20 minutes before the end, the recording seemed to have stopped
