Kazaa anime

Does anyone know what type of compressors I need for the avi files on Kazaa? The animes I download don't have any video. I tried using both WMV and Quicktime.

did u try DIVX and du u have windows media player

Get the right codec to play them.

for most kazaa animes (mainly evangelion) you need nemo codec

I recommend the "Nimo Codec Pack" version 5.0 build 8 mentioned earlier and the "Gordian Knot System Pack" version 1.0 for people who need codec (encoder/decoder) files

I have had problems with Nimo giving me garbled sound from some files, and if that happens to you, then uninstall it and try the Gordian Knot pack instead

if you still have problems, then go and download divx version 5.0.3, which is the latest official release of the common divx codec which is used to create .avi files

I have yet to find a file I have downloaded that won't play with a combination of the three codecs above and either Windows Media Player, RealOne Player, or The Playa (the playa does .avi files only) except for the occaisional proprietary ogg vorbis or xvid file (edit: and of course, quicktime .mov files)
