Agree, after all kyo did have the title of "senninggiri" or thousands kills during the Battle of Sekigahara, where kenshin was an assasin during the Meiji Ishin but I dont think killed that many. So Kyo would have the edge. Kyo and Kenshin are fictional however, but Jubei did exist during the Tokugawa Period. The Yagyu Clan does exist to this day, however if their Ryu ha is carried on within the household is not known.

himura kenshin was based on a true assasin but has been fictionalized alot. The name himura kenshin came from a japanese comedian Shimura ken and the author swithed the hiragana around to create the name himura kenshin. Watsuki Nobuhiro says so in his manga. but kyo vs. kenshin would be match unlike jubei who wonders around probably sulking from the death of his ninja girlfriend

Hmm if u took away Kenshin's cray z techniques it'd be tough - but all hands down mah man Manji would own =D I mean how are you to beat what you can't kill? (ok he can be killed but only if he A. Bleeds to death (which doesn't seem to be a very easy thing to accomplish) B. Suffication or C. Decapitation and even then if he were to hurry and place his head back on he'd be good to go

Bleh..this is my first time posting here but i just have to say this..

How are you comparing Jubei and Kenshin?

Jubei lacks alot of the special abilities of modern anime characters. He's pretty much a real human as his mortality is shown alot throughout the anime. He has no special abilites, no incredible weapons. He's just a man, course you can argue how he survived against all the demon Devils of Kimon. But half the time he would of died if it wasn't for some outside interference.

Kenshin is more of the modern bishie thing you see now in shows like Gundam Wing, Wiess Kreuz, Angel Sanctuary. Plus he's loaded with all these abilities, a unique sword, and was taught by a master swordsmen.

Simply stating, how can you compare the two? I mean its like comparing Evangelion to FLCL.

Ah well ..anywho if i had a choice I'd pick Manji. I love Blade of the Immortal.

Jubei would beat Kenshin from the TV series. Maybe you're confusing abilities with sword techniques because, to my knowledge, everyone in Kenshin TV and OVA were humans. The teacher thing can't even be argued since they never said who taught Jubei, but I'm pretty sure he didn't learn his techniques from one night with a drunk geisha. And the sakabatou is just a retarded sword, in my opinion. But, once again, if it were the Kenshin from the OVA, Jubei wouldn't stand a chance.
