I cant decide whether I should start with the Love Hina series or Lain....

I'm probably a bigger fan of the less serious Anime, but I love all really.

Your opinion?

Love Hina on the other hand is everything but serious and it's really good too.

Since they're totally different series, it depends on your taste.

if you're looking for light-hearted romantic comedy, go with Love Hina. if you're looking for a complex psychological thing, try Lain.

i hate both.

lain is retardedly confusing and it's not worth it to figure it out. i watched all the episodes and usually ended up falling asleep or being confused. director said something about how the major impact would come from some of the culture conflict in japan, something that americans wouldn't understand. kinda like japanese people watching "wayne's world." go figure.

love hina is a not so funny, not so sweet romantic comedy with a typical harem situation (guy surrounded by lots of girls that like him for some stupid reason) and the romance feels forced and virtual.

well, it's your choice.

Lain definitely.

I've watched the entire series at least 8 times now. Every once in a while I like to dig out certain episodes and watch them again. The great thing about Lain is that everytime I watch it I notice things I've missed before or you can see it in a different way than you had seen it before.

It's a very open anime, leaving you to come to your own conclusions about things, although some things that they could have done more with they didn't. Example: Lain's Sister.

It will definitely make you question your personality.

That makes it sound like another one of those "you have to watch it 100 times to figure it all out" series.

I am of the opinion that anything that you have to watch a bunch of times to REALLY figure it out because the story was never completely told, just wasn't well written.

I for one like to be able to think for myself and realize how and -why- things happen. There is a difference between a story not being well written and a story making you think.

Love Hina is hilarous and a great anime i havent heard bout Lain but i still would recomend LH......great :spin: :spin:

um i think FLCL goes in that same catagory and its almost legendary. personaly id go with lain, if u want love hina anime, might as well go for my goddess(not sure if that is the full name) or tenchi muyo(at least that has a actual story), and there r countless other just like it, where the complex ones r hard to copy because of the complex story line and char. building. o well its ur choice and u asked for my opnion
