'Tis called the "Zanbatou," and it's an actual weapon that was used in Japan around that era. They're huge!

you are here alone again, in your sweet insanity
all to calm, you hide yourself from reality
do you call it solitude? do you call it liberty?
when all the world turns away to leave you lonely
The Zanbatou is difficult to weild, but watching how stong Sanosuke is, I'm surprised he couldn't do better. If I had a sword like that I'd CONSTANTLY use it outside and learn to use it the best I could, Greatswords are my favorite.
I agree with OrochiChris. Soujiro is my favorite character. (if you post on other kenshin threads you probably know this by now ) and yes the Zanbatou is hard to handle. My friend made one a few months ago. He still has it and it is massive. I think its a metal pole and bolted to huge piece of wood to it. I can't remember how long Sano's was but my friends stands about 8 ft.
I would be happy to have one. but.... it wouldmn'yt fit in my house lol. i would have it in the backyard anyhow with a sword that big no one can steal it either... u'd have to come to my house with a tractor or somethin'
Man That sword is the coolest! I always wanted one! i'm gonna get one next year(I'm getting the whole Kyoto arc this year so i won't have enough.)! Thanks for that link!
