i never understood the attraction to rei (sorry pai, but i don't see why). asuka on the other hand has emotions, and is more of a real character than most of the others. i just like her in the first episode she is in (so funny that i watched it 5 times at least before getting the next disk). personally, slayers just has too bad of graphics for it to be in the same level as lodross war and NGE.
